Its been an interesting 3 months, but I think it's time to start working on the real game.

I started this project to get my feet wet in a non-destructive way, after a somewhat long hiatus from the game dev scene.  At this point I feel I've reached a point where working on this prototype wouldn't yield any major benefits for the time I'm putting into it.  I can keep adding and polishing, but this project was never meant to go beyond a prototype.

I now have a working knowledge of various systems that I'm going to need.  If there is a major concept that I want to try out I may revisit this project.

Thanks to working on this project I now have a good idea what shape I want my game to take.  Although I'm likely going to change and tweak a few things, most of what I did here is a good starting point.

After I have something new to show I may update with a new devlog here, because unless I plan to do an early access release, I won't make a new game page for a game that's not yet built.

If you've been following this project, thank you for your interest in it. Hopefully I'll manage to make the game I have in mind, and maybe you'll be interested in that one too.

v6.0 quick notes:

-Updated the inventory system.  Player can now equip drop weapons.

-Pressing the swap weapon key now toggles between equipment slots.

-Revised the inventory control buttons a bit.

-Save system.  Rough draft, but still operational.

v5.0 quick notes:

-Trimmed off a lot of fat

-Made a drop script that drops weapons of different rarity and stats

-Added a new monster

-Bunch of minor tweaks and changes

V4 quick notes:

Added a wheel menu that pauses the game

Made the beginnings of an inventory system

Trimmed away some of the fat and the game is now a little bit better optimized

v3.0 update implements a shotgun and machinegun.

Improvements to the HUD too.

One of my goals with this release was to optimize the game so it would run on lower end machines, but I ended up doing the opposite lol​.
