Cool game!

This is my entry to Boss Rush Jam whose theme is : Self Destruction

This game is actually spinoff to Robo Magi.

Blangkono, hero of this game is a robot similar to Magito and Dukuro minus magic spells. He's travelling to Planet Robz in search of an elemental orb. His travel won't be easy cause there are many alien bosses he has to defeat.

In post jam version, CyBot joins Blangkono in this quest while running away from his chasers.

Controls:

NumPad keys = move Blangkono/CyBot and aim shots

Z = Jump

X = Shoot (can aim and shoot in 8 directions)

Down+Z = Drop off platform

Enter = Pause (opens up Upgrade Menu) or confirm

F8 = Take screenshot

Features:

- Continuous shooting by holding shoot button.

- 8 directional shooting.

- (Post jam version only) 2 playables : Blangkono and CyBot. Each has his own shooting rate and power.

- Upgrade menu (press Enter to open it)

1. 2 bottommost buttons are Resume and Return to main menu

2. 3 icons + bar and price tag are upgrade buttons

3. Press Enter or X to purchase an upgrade when upgrade button is highlighted

- 2 modes: Survivor and Hunter

Survivor:

1. Starts with 3 healths

2. Cheap upgrade costs

3. Normal levels

4. Normal bosses health

5. Single life (death=game over)

6. Gained crystals are gone on retry

7. Bonus level to earn more crystals

Hunter:

1. Starts with 1 health

2. Expensive upgrade costs

3. Normal + extra levels

4. Extended bosses health

5. Infinite lives

6. Gained crystal is carried after death (don't return to main menu)

Some background and sprite arts in this game look bad so I decided to rehash some of them. They look better now!

I wasn't happy that player could earn money before the boss appears in some levels. To prevent this flaw being abused, I brought these cute monsters from Scorer Horror to give the money after boss is defeated.

I've made shield walker boss whose concept I've made months ago. It was challenging fight and harder than I thought. This is perfect for having another boss in higher tier.

Rage feature which I've coded about a year ago had issue with pause system. I finally managed to fix this issue.

Now, the chicken boss from before could be enraged if it's damaged too much and cooled down properly.

My cockatrice artwork was hard to develop in this game so I decided to change the design and created this yet another chicken based boss #ChickenTrender.

The shots also show new way background is arranged to create different levels.
