What do you think?

I would send a link of my video but I lost the recording but here is my honest opinoin the game is really good but the things the the animatronics timing is odd cause if it's bonnie and freddy at the same time your just dead either way because it takes 10 seconds for bonnie to leave and when freddy shows up to the door it takes him like the time bonnie leaves to get me and with foxy and freddy if the box is far away as possible from you your cooked I'm not trying to be mean the game is amazing I just think there should be a pattern or something for that not to happen but W game and can't wait for more!

I did beat the game 5 minutes ago, and to be honest, the game is actually quite balanced.
{}The sound design is the absolute highlight of the game.
every time foxy detects my presence, it is always a rush of anxiety and questioning if I can stun him in time/get the gift box in time.
{}Also, the models for the animatronics are very well made, even for early access standards, the models and the design of the environment is well designed, except for one caveat, and that is the spot right in front of the double doors-Freddy's entry spot. They do not provide enough cover for the not-so-rare case of the animatronics coming from every direction, and that you have to heavily rely on RNG to save you.

all in all, it's a very well made game! It has a lot of potential and I'm vert excited for future updates!

good luck!

after playing for a bit here is what i think:

i think the game is great so far, nice visuals and fun mechanics that feel responsive.

i do feel that the game can be a bit too slow, there is way too much time inbetween attacks, like it feels like after i deal with an animatronic i have to wait a full minute just for another to apear.

i also feel like animatronics dont synergise too well, like it feels like if i get multiple animatronics at once its like a garunteed death

example: you get freddy with foxy, freddy makes it impossible to see things making it incredibly hard to avoid foxy, especially since when freddy starts darkening your screen you litearally have to head over to freddys door imideatly otherwise you wont make it in time, combo that with a rapidly roaming foxy who could easily be in an inconvenient spot causing you to be unable to deal with freddy and you have a pretty garunteed death, pretty much the same goes for freddy and bonnie combo.

foxy and bonnie combo can also be a bit annoying but not as bad as with freddy, as long as you are in a decent spot you should be able to wait till bonnie leaves and then rid of foxy.

TLDR: game is good, nice visuals and fun mechanics, but can feel a bit too slow and has too many unwinable situations that feel out of your control.

then again who knows, maybe i just have massive skill issue.

i think this game has a huge amount of potential and i hope it becomes successful

Mad TJOC Vibes! I love seeing other fnaf games getting inspired by it.

Toys in the Dark Review (My Perspective)

Toys in the Dark is one of those fan games that immediately reminded me of The Joy of Creation, except it isn't free-roam. Instead, you're trapped in a warehouse trying to survive against some insanely aggressive animatronics while juggling a bunch of mechanics at the same time. From the start, I could tell this game wasn't messing around.

The main tools you're given are a Polaroid camera and a flashlight, and learning how to use them properly is basically the difference between surviving and getting jumpscared every few seconds. Each animatronic behaves differently, which is something I really liked. The Fox can be stunned with a special flashlight, the Bear shows up at the warehouse door and has to be scared away with light, and Bonnie is probably the most annoying of the bunch since neither the camera nor flashlight works on him. When he appears, your only option is to avoid him and wait for him to leave.

The biggest thing I noticed while playing was just how brutally difficult the game is. I'm not talking about the normal kind of hard where you learn patterns and improve over time. This game feels incredibly random at points, and because of that there were moments where it genuinely felt unbeatable. Sometimes it seemed like everything would line up against me at once, making survival feel more like luck than skill.

I also wasn't a huge fan of having to constantly run back and forth just to grab the flashlight. Personally, I think the flashlight should stay with the player at all times. It would make the gameplay feel smoother and allow the challenge to come from the animatronics themselves rather than repeatedly retrieving a tool you already need every few seconds.

Another issue I had was with the pacing. There are periods where not much happens, followed by sudden chaos. I would've preferred a more consistent escalation where the tension steadily increases throughout the night instead of alternating between long breaks and overwhelming encounters.

There were also a few technical problems. Running the game with an uncapped frame rate caused performance issues for me, and some of the phone call tips and dialogue felt misleading. A few times I followed the instructions only to end up confused about what the game actually wanted me to do.

Despite all of those criticisms, I still think Toys in the Dark is an impressive fan project. The visuals are great, the atmosphere is tense, and it's clear that a lot of effort went into creating the experience. The game absolutely nails the feeling of panic and pressure. However, I think it would benefit from some balancing changes to make deaths feel more fair and progression feel more skill-based.

Overall, Toys in the Dark is a high-quality and genuinely scary fan game with a lot of potential. Right now, though, its difficulty, pacing, and a few design choices hold it back from being as enjoyable as it could be. If the balance gets adjusted, I could easily see this becoming one of the stronger FNAF fan games out there.

That being said, I know the game is still in Early Access, and for an Early Access project, this feels incredibly official. The visuals, atmosphere, sound design, and overall presentation are on a level that many fan games never reach. Even with the issues I had, it's clear that a lot of passion and talent went into making this game, and I'm excited to see how it improves as development continues.
