This Game Looks Wonderfull And Is Incredibly Ambitious, The Artstyle Reminds Me Of Stardew Valley (It Looks Amazing) And The Concept Is SUPER Cool, I Want To Buy This When It Comes Out, Because There Are So Many Possibilitys As To What You Can Do, This Seems Amazing And Im Verry Exited!

WHAT IS CITIZEN LIFE?

Citizen Life is a new life simulation game I am currently working on.

The main difference to other life simulation games like Sims or GTA is that people don't just "disappear" when they leave the screen but have their own dynamic daily routine that can be changed by any event. If they go to work, they actually go to work and fulfill tasks that have influence in the town and its citizens.

The game also does not have a preset story. The player has unlimited ways of playing the game. If the player dies, the game will be over and the player can start a new game again and be reborn.

The game will have different maps to choose from. A map will have five different areas, the commercial, the industrial, the residential, the agricultural and the nature area. Each area has specific buildings with different uses.

A town will have 250-500 procedurally generated AI-Humans. Humans can move in, move out, be born and die. There are more than 30 Jobs (see the current list here), from police officer to barber.

FEATURES

Existing:

  • Health: All body parts have an individual status and are draw individually. If you have a cut on your arm for example, you will need to treat it to prevent infection and blood loss. You can also lose limbs and perform surgeries. There are several health institutions such as pharmacies that sell medication, general clinics that diagnose and treat conditions and a hospital that can hospitalize sick individuals. Dead people are buried at the graveyard.

  • Trade: All factories, farms, retail shops and mining companies need to be able to buy/sell their stock in bulk. For this reason, they often work with wholesale companies as a middleman. For example, a vegetable wholesale company can buy produce from a number of small farmers, store it in a warehouse and and then sell it in bulk to a large food product manufacturer.

  • Agriculture: In the rural district there's plenty of farmland for a variety of crops. You can grow crops such as carrots, fruit trees like apple trees and vines like hops. You can also secretly grow cannabis, dry the buds and craft marijuana joints.

  • Forestry: Most parts of the forests can be purchased and harvested. The logs can then be converted into planks in a sawmill.

  • Transactions: You can deposit and withdraw cash with your ATM card at an ATM to your bank account. If you need to pay bills you can easily do so on your bank's website. You can also purchase a personal chequebook at your bank to pay employees. You can also order a cashier's cheque required to purchase real estate.

  • Investments: If you deposit money into your savings account your bank may pay you interest. You can also borrow money by taking out a personal loan or mortgage. If you have a corporate bank account you can also take out a business loan.

  • Transport: There is a well-established road infrastructure that lets you reach all parts of the map with your car. If you don't own a car you can also take one of the few buses that rotate throughout the county.

I have a lot of different inspirations for the game. To give you an idea, of how it's going to look like these are my main inspirations:

Q: Are there any builds to test already?
A: The demo program is currently closed.

Q: When will the game be released?
A: There isn't any release date at this point anymore. Software development is unpredictable though so I can't say so far.

Q: Will the game be released on mobile?
A: This is not planned at the moment. However, it may be possible to make the game playable on mobile as well with some optimization.

Q: Will the game be paid and how much will it cost?
A: The game will be paid. I cannot tell any numbers yet as I cannot set a price for something that doesn't fully exist yet.

Q: Will there be multiplayer?
A: I don't have any experience with networking at the time, but I am planning on making it possible for friends to play together or maybe even give the option to host a dedicated server. Honestly, I do not want to make this into an MMORPG, as somebody has to do the "dirty work" (for example working in factories), and in this situation, AI-Humans are way better in my opinion. But playing with friends is always fun, so that will definitely be something I will look into in the future.

Q: How do you want to make so many different humans with their own routines etc.?
A: The humans, their attributes and everything they do are programmed by their own AI. Instead of programming countless humans I basically program a script that procedurally generates them. Most of the game's features work this way.
This game can't be compared to other games like GTA, Stardew Valley, Sims etc. in terms of most of the game mechanics as it works a completely different way
