If anyone has watched the devlog I shared here yesterday, yes, I am planning on scrapping the quests system. Here's why:

Okay, so, YEAH, I've been away for QUITE A WHILE. I don't know why but I just hadn't been feeling it for the longest time there but I'm gonna be getting back into it starting tomorrow morning! Here's the devlog video I just posted!

There seems to be a crash that happens sometimes on the win32 version that I'm gonna fix another day because if I'm being 100% honest, I don't have it in me right now. I still haven't fully recovered from working a 12/5 all month, okay?

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Oh yeah, this is all I have properly added in the latest build haha.

OKAY! Back into it! Now where did I leave off with that quest system...?

I might not do too much work on Hensen Hopper this weekend because I'm really just not feeling it today. Might feel different tomorrow, no idea.

I made some updates to the hints system! Now it reads from the message hub to determine when to show hints and the hint texts now come from the lang system I wrote yesterday. This simplified my the hints handling algorithm A LOT from what it used to be!

Is there even a point to keeping a changelog when Game Jolt has pretty much become my changelog at this point? 🤣

Oh yeah, also, I updated that algorithm for dash handling I shared yesterday so I can set the dash duration via the inspector window!

I think one of the things I may have quests reward the player with is temporary (or permanent) upgrades to Hensen's abilities (i.e fewer bullets to defeat enemies, longer dashes once I implement that feature properly)
