What do you think?

Great game, thank you!! I beat it on Medium.

Robovania: Dark Rebellion is a #sciencefiction real-time strategy game available for #windows computers, and the prequel to another game I'm working on: War for Robovania. In Robovania: Dark Rebellion, you play the role of Robovania's rather promising new Technoleader.

(Just to explain: Technoleaders are a Robovania Military ranking used to designate people allowed to access and command the Robotic portion of Robovania's soldiers. In other words, they are a made-up thing for this made-up universe.)

Controls:

Left mouse button - Selects units (hold down and drag to select a group of units).
Right mouse button OR Control+Left mouse button - Moves units.
A key - Select all your units.
P key - Pause the game.
Escape key - Return to title screen.

Features (currently in the game):

-Start with 2 different kinds of units at your disposal: Soldier Bots, which are a basic, cheap soldier unit; And Decoys, which are a support unit with a lot of health. Decoys can be used to lure enemy fire towards them instead of towards your combat-capable units, and due to their cheap price and higher speed, they're very useful for doing so.
-Upgrade your units speed or damage mid-stage to give yourself an edge, or use the money to expand your existing army instead.
-Also available mid-stage is the cash generation upgrade. It will be harder to get an edge earlier on in a given stage by using them due to the price, but the results can pay off long-term if you get them early enough.
-Several difficulty options give you the ability to make the game really easy or really hard. We recommend you start on medium. If you somehow find that too easy, play on something harder, and if you find it too hard, play on something easier.
-Unlock new units from defeated bosses.
-Command Robovania's military to victory against the three members of the Dark Rebellion!

Planned features (for future versions):

-Nothing, currently. Except bug-fixes, those will probably happen. Possibly stage gimmicks, too.

Feel free to give us your thoughts on the game. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Somewhere in between? Found a bug? Like one feature of the game, but don't like another? Tell us in the comments!

Though the ZIP file hasn't changed since the point I called the game a release candidate, I've decided that the game is in a good enough state to be considered released. There could be some minor typos here and there, a few bugs lurking around, and I have a feature or two in mind that I may add at some point (mainly GameJolt API integration and stage gimmicks), but I may have actually worked out all the bugs and typos already (I've already worked those things out as best as I could without outside feedback), so it's close enough that I've marked the game as released.

The Eventual Plan...

Should I continue working on this game at some point?

Another quick update: Game marked as released

Quick update: Added a video

Just a quick update post to tell you that I added a gameplay video to the game’s GameJolt page. Now you don’t have to play the game to get a feel for what it is like!
