It builds maps by altering sector floor/ceiling heights/textures, light level, and so forth. It spawns in enemies per map and even rebuilds levels to make new ones on the fly.
The maps it builds have very little balancing and have unbelievably hard gameplay. Due to that it's best to play with a built in bot.
As always, flipping the right switch changes difficulty, back switch sets up levels to beat before the game ends, and left switch builds the map. Do that in that order...
To spawn the bot type "addbot slayer" in the console and hit f12 afterwards after leaving the console.
The Bot can mess up horribly over and over again. If it does and gets stuck multiple times, just quit the port and restart to fix.
