Hello everyone, so amazing things happened. So someone gave us some funding for the project. They wanted to help us get it off the ground. For the project our main issue was lack of UI art and lack of concept art for characters, area, levels, and much more. We have code for crafting items, ability trees, inventory, and stats, but no art for the UI. I been testing it on the most hideous icons I have ever seen. Basically I made the GUI art myself just to test and I am not an artist.
For the funding I will be splitting it into a couple things. One concept art for characters, monsters and areas.

Here is a link to the artist who will be doing our character concept.
For making a character here is our process. We have someone make concept art for us to get our ideas see able. We will share all concept art we have made for the project here. After the concept is done we go to the person who we will hire for pixel art, hand him the concept, and he will make sketches for the animations of the character, after we approved the sketches he makes rough pixel outlines, and finally details the pixel art. So long process, but this makes sure the art is high quality and gives you guys some cool stuff to see.
Second part of the funding is trying to find a UI artist. Now here is the thing we will hire a couple people to make UI art examples. After we find the one who we like we will hire them fully for the art of the project. This will be for all of the games UI.
Third part is for the ability tree. We want our ability tree to be not just a cool system, but a sight to behold. We want the art on that menu to stand out and give the player a sense of wonder they never knew could exist for an menu.
Fourth part is trying to make a cut scene which is where most of the money will go. We got to find a team to make a cut scene for the start of the game which can reach thousands of dollars so yeah. This one will take months probably just to find a team who can do animations of quality we want. And afterward it could take a month or two to finish the cut scene. This project is aiming to reach a final quality of something you would be amazed by.
This project is going to take over a year to finish. Let me say this now. This project will evolve a lot. We are talking a release date of 2021. Yes not 2020, but 2021. This is beta too, so full game might not be done till 2022 for release. So I hope you guys enjoy the ride.
So to the update things. We want part of the UI art to be finished before releasing the next. Mainly just the main window and stat screen. So give us one more week. I know this release was delayed, but the wait will be worth it. The game will seem much more polish after we get the UI and menu art in.
Also we are scrapping the current attack system. We always planned too. The current system is clunky and we just wanted a test system for re spawning and a couple other things. So look forward to a mass attack system overhaul with spells soon.
Here is something to look forward. We will aim to have the following out within 6 weeks. Most things will be sooner than that just a full expectation of what is listed below.
List of these features:
We will have a crafting and alchemy system in this game. This will have a test release within that 6 weeks. This includes making new equipment, new consumables, and a few other things that won't be announced just yet.
We will have a bestiary that updates when you kill an enemy for the first time. This will help show what monsters drop what items. We will try and make it where the info here is helpful and entertaining.
The ability tree is a whopper of a system.
There will be 8 trees that represent the 8 elements in the game. You can go up the tree or down into the branches. The higher up you go the more pure elemental spells you get for that tree. The lower in the roots you go the more your elements mix. So fire and water roots mix into steam magic. The tree will also have passives in it too.
These are the main system we want to focus on in the next 6 weeks. After these are done we will work on quests, better save systems, dialogue with NPC, more areas to explore and so forth.
When the artist finish the next set of art we will start sharing it. So give us maybe one week before the first art comes your way.
Thank you guys for your time and hope you enjoy the future.
