Let's start off by saying what is happening behind scenes. A couple weeks ago I mentioned work got busy. I said that to focus on the real problem at hand. There was something that happened to one of the devs that worked on the project that made work busy and my personal life busy.
One of our devs is 26 years old and sadly came close to complete heart failure. He was rushed to the Er with a blood pressure of 200 over 110 which is stroke and death levels. We were told he shouldn't be alone for a while till the doctors can get medicine and figure out what is causing it. Saying that he has been staying at my house for a few weeks. With some medicine he is now much more stable. We also brought his computers over and now have all cork computers in one house.
I will post some art today for inside the pub. The pub will be where you can sit down get some quests have drinks with NPCs you met, and a few other things. We want each NPC to have life so when an NPC moves into the town after joining your team you can have drinks with them, chat with them, and do quests for them. The chat will have some story elements for their background story. This can be a way to learn more about everyone. We want each NPC to have story and meaning in the game.
With the NPC we want them to have rewards for taking time chatting with them or doing quests for them. This can be nice items, new items in the shops to buy, or teaching you spells.
Anyway time to start getting back to work now since things are much better. Have a good day.
Next up
Working on some level design prototyping for some of the underground areas. Wanted to just share some things I am testing. Mainly having waterfalls as a background element for the caverns.
Got volumetric lighting working with my custom shaders. Will need to tweak some settings and working on the castle environment lighting now. Pictures are with and without the lighting enabled for the player and throne.

Just a little teaser of wip art for the upcoming library area. Going to have a new background made so the contrast looks better, but for now I am enjoying it. Do note will be uploading a gif within next couple days so you can see the animated objects.
While working on the first full Alpha build, I decided to start adding a little bit of NPC dialogue and other stuff to start making the game feel somewhat alive during the early alpha stages.
Started making a mini diagram to show each region and the connections between them. This way people will have a semi direction hint before the map system update comes out. There are more regions not shown. Note this doesn't include the fast travel system.
