Apple Silicon [Preview] Update 2

Here is Acceleroll on MacOS (M1 or later) with a few fixes.

Patch Notes:

  • Hard mode sandstorm particle is no longer black on MacOS, it is instead it's normal color using another shader that is nearly identical, as the previous shader was broken on certain platforms

  • Pool table "Acceleroll" logo is brighter and more visible, giving a more golden feel

  • Pool ball UI icons have been updated for slightly more visibility

  • Sandbox physics objects now have more weight giving them more realism and less "floatiness"

  • Sandbox mistakenly had a goal object which could break the game upon touching (although it was very hard to reach), this has been removed entirely

Spent a few hours today remaking some Sims build mode functionality. Not really making a game with it atm, just a curiosity. Walls are unbelievably jank, but not bad for a couple hours. I'm mostly messing with the system in case I make something like it.

In the new mode you can find an updated variant of the desert levels! Thick sandstorms, howling winds, fog, limited visibility. Can you make it to the goal safely?

Target is getting a minor addition, multipliers! They multiply your score. And yes it is cumulative (all by x2), so a multiplier 4 * this powerup would be 8, thus leading to an x8 score (if you can land safely).

Finished up my very primitive sims build/buy mode clone. Still a bit rough, a lot I could add/improve. But for a couple days of work, not bad. Would be awesome for some kind of management game. I had to refactor this like 5 times, it was awful.

Clickity Clack. I love the sound these make. I set it up so every ball collision makes this noise so you get all these super clacky sounds and I love it.

Finished up the update for my aquarium simulation game. Manage many different exotic and occult fish species in your own personal tank. It also includes a breeding and genetic system. Play for free on the web here at GameJolt!

Target is getting a huge rework. I basically rewrote the movement code from scratch. You now have to actually fly and steer to score. It also makes multipliers harder.

This game has still been on my mind. Still suffering a catastrophic game dev burnout. But I had a concept for a prehistoric/dino level in my head. I made a test song for it as a musical challenge (may not be in the game). Mostly for fun.

merged my sims build mode thingy with my A* test. Really cool to see the two systems interact very well together. There's probably some edge cases but I'm pretty happy with this.
