The first test build of the restart of the project is now up.
Here is to the start of a full game dev cycle.


The first build is only for testing a few things so not a lot here, but keep in mind more rooms and areas are already done.

It only has two rooms and is mainly to test out input and movement logic of the player.

Controls are as following

Side to Side: A/D, left/right arrow, and some controllers already work with the left control stick.

Jump: space bar and the south button on controller.
B for switch, x for playstation, and A for xbox.

Toggle Sprinting: shift and the north button on controllers.

Toggle in game menu:
Escape key and start button on controllers.

Current release build: Private test 0.0.2 UI update Version 0.0.2 overview article

This build is just to start getting the new logic of the UI code in game that was done after the development restart. Note not all the original art is in yet.

The start of the character stat system is ready for the next build. Enemies should actually take a variety of damage starting next build. Nice little screen shot showing on the right side a nice little editor to see stat changing effects and the sources.

Finally got the UI started in the game. Always felt it was the main thing missing in my project, but now it is finally starting to get done. With the UI started the game will feel like a real game now. https://gamejolt.com/games/immortalchronicles/445565

Here are some more NPC art. Next week we will have the character art for the town people started. One of these animations is just for small detail when entering the library randomly. Would be boring if every character only had one type of idle animation.

Got new builds being prepared now for the project. Since the last post a lot of big things have started to come into the project. Read the article for the rundown.

Here is a small video to just show the work in progress save and load system being put in the next build.

Started on the interior for the tavern. The tavern will be where you get quests and can gather information from NPC you made friends of. The tavern NPCs are just stock placeholder art for now and will be replaced later with more custom art.
