Today's update is going to be a little bit small.
I haven't done much lately except continue backing up/porting fighters from Ultimate that show up in Feud.
I can, however, say I've resumed work on my damage animation system. The way I did it before was: I'd use the animator controller's AnyState node and then just pick out an animation from there. Sadly this had a few glitches. So I'm trying something: making transitions from each state. Now I'm realizing this'll take way too long and be too tedious, so I may go back to it and refine it further. It used to result in weird stuff, like the downed damage animations not playing, instead playing normal ones. So for my old system, I may need to add a new variable check for when downed.
I'm considering keeping the Ultimate models for veterans and returning stages. It'll just take considerably less time. But what I WILL be doing, is making new models for new content. What I used to want to do, is repurpose models from other games and just edit/port them. But going forward, some will need new models, while a few may even need models made period. So I might draw reference sheets. I will be keeping the concept art / reference stuff I make and upload it to my future SSBF Wix site once development is finished.
Sadly, I'll end this here. I just wanted to post something to reassure you I'm still hard at work.
