Version D0.42 released!

It's been a while since the last update. There was quite a lot stuff to take care of (both for the game and in real life). Much like the previous update, it brings small but substantial updates to the game. This time around, it's engine upgrades and a refresh of the battle UI. Engine wise, I slip-streamed some technical updates (which, sadly, also broke the saves), but should improve the stability of the game. In addition, the launcher got an overhaul. The launcher is now compiled with NativeAOT, which means far faster launch times and better memory usage. The last thing is the introduction of a new feedback system: Pressing Ctrl-Shift-F will bring up a new feedback widget. This should make it easier to send in feedback.

As for the stuff I was working on: I can't say much at the moment (yet). But I can say this: It has morphed into a different thing that I wasn't planning. Once it's ready, I'll let you know.

Changelog:

Game:

  • Technical upgrades in the engine, for better stability.

  • The crash screen has been updated.

    • A button to copy the error trace to the clipboard has been added.

    • A button to restart the game has been added.

    • Visual updates.

  • The Bug Report option in the title was replaced by the new Feedback widget (opens with Ctrl-Shift-F).

  • Updated the battle UI.

Starboard Platform (formerly Northbridge)

  • Ported over to Avalonia UI and compiled with NativeAOT.

    • Brings massive performance and memory usage improvements.

    • The game is also smaller (40MB by Starboard, compared to 100+MB that Northbridge consumed).

Enjoy a nice dish, get a nice buff. What's not to like?

A small teaser for the next update.

Wrote a tool that installs the game's dependencies. That means Northbridge will always use the latest version of the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

Soooo...yeah, you can now grow and cut down trees :)

A bit of an old but goodie coming back: Quick Load! In an upcoming update, you can jump back to where you left off with a push of a button.

Jungling through the Jungle Dungeon

Implementing Armor Corrosion. This put quite a dent in the target's armor for a short time.

Waz zis? An overhauled map? Yes. Coming soon.

New vegetation, shading, and rock formations have arrived in the game Talus Odyssey. Still on RPG Maker XP ;)

While I'm preparing August's Monthly Sync, I'm preparing a Trello board for the game. You can see what I'm working on here. https://trello.com/b/CjFyzH50/immortal-sins-game-development Pardon my dust, while I'm getting this up and running.
