Happy #RetroGameDay. Today I want to talk about my favorite retro game Galaga. While there were many that I played, Galaga known as a fast-paced shooter is additive to complete for the highest score. Also, the arcade was everywhere at my location.

#GJAsks what's my favorite forgotten retro game is Food Fight for the arcade and Atari 5600. It a one and done game. Think Pac-man meet Havocado where four chef chase you, but you must reach the ice cream before it melt. Throwing food at them is crucial.

The game dev skill that I am trying to level up next is puzzle adventure games. Games like Tomb Raider and Legend of Zelda have been my inspiration. I have created assets for the future game and puzzle solving is something to look forward to.

What game dev achievement that I am proud of the most is adding the camera movement that move up and down in an FPS. The concept is to create a unique gameplay of position the player to take advantage of the enemies on a single screen.

The feature that I most excited about currently in my game is the asteroid dust ring. Once its finished it will rotate counterclockwise of the Earth as you move up and down the dust will remain without breaking down.

What success would look like for my current project is finally gets the recognition. The game is a homage of the 1980s and 1990s arcade fps for fans of retro gaming. It appeals to non-casual fans that attract them for simple game play.

What scares me the most about releasing a game goes back to double checking on the hidden bugs. While marketing it is one of the worries if the game is appealing or not but it the bugs that worries me the most.

The kind of feedback helps me the most for the game is the challenge in terms of how the player are interactive with the enemies per level. I want know if the rules of fair chance is given but pushing the reflex and coordination of the player.

The way that I share my dev progress thru indieDB, youtube and gamejolt. I try to give out as much daily update on the process of the game. Its not easy lately with job and family can slow down the update. But still not given up.

Dev taught me the hard way: don’t love your game for what it is—love it for why players care. Fun, challenge, and engagement guide everything I build.
