Five Nights at Cris'

Currently implemented: - Fully playable Tutorial Night and Nights from 1 to 6, but with some placeholder images. - Custom Night, available after beating each Night! - Settings: * Windowed Fullscreen / Windowed. IT only affects how the game starts, you can always switch by pressing F11 or Alt+Enter. * FPS. This only affects the target FPS, test this first. FPS don't affect quality much, you can leave it as 60 unless it is blinking for you. * Volume. The only thing that will sound louder than the menu's background music are Jumpscares, who will scream at 50% more volume of the set volume. Coming soon: - Better but not great images for the background of each Camera. - Mod support?

Yet another #indie #fnaf #fangame, except that I had too much time and decided to do it in #Java using Swing components (if you don't know what those are, just note that they are not the recommended way to do this whatsoever for complexity/time reasons).

IMPORTANT: The game requires you to have Java 17 or higher installed.

The game tells the story of a famous Restaurant in world where there was a Cataclysm that changed everything into drawings, as if drawn by a child. The Animatronics of that Restaurant started to move on their own, as if they gained life when converting to drawings.

Your objective is to keep the place safe from thieves during the night shortly after the Cataclysm, at least until the shareholders can decide what to do now that the Animatronics are hostile to customers and staff. In the meantime, the owner of the place, who was in a convertible Animatronic/suit during the Cataclysm, seems to be asking for help from inside one of those killing drawings.

As of mechanics of the game, its gameplay is more or less one of FNAF 1. There are up to 4 Animatronics trying to reach the left or right door of your office to kill you. Nonetheless, the doors are completely dark and there is no light or cameras pointing directly at them, so you need to keep track of where each one is in order to close the appropriate doors, and never open them while one of them is there. Everything in the game is a .png/.jpg/.gif drawn by me, the main menu music is composed by me with MuseScore and sounds used are either composed by me like the main menu or found on pixabay.com. This is an early build, and it's missing a Custom Night that will be available in the first full release and most of the images of each Camera.

I had to pull the update and publish it again for a hotfix.

- Fixed game version not updating (I forgor).

- Also for the trouble, added threads on the startup to allow the game to be opened much faster.

New update!

- A lot of work for the Maven package to allow easier addition of custom content by Java developers.

- Improved ambient sound system.

- Fixed optimized GIFs not working for Jumpscares.

- Added map selection on Custom Night.

New update online

- Added the classic honk sound. Find it at the office!

- Red buttons of doors are now clickable. Door's art is still WIP, so the exact location on screen will change after the art revamp.

- Reduced the volume of door sounds. It was high.

Update being published now.

- Fixed Night 3 not loading. My bad.

- Fixed "static" sound from Cameras being repeated on loop even after completing a Night if Cameras were up when you won.

- Improved menu.

- Cleaned up some code and javadocs.

New version with an important hotfix:

- Jumpscares are no longer invisible except on the last frame. Also they are a little more optimized.

- Also, now Bob, Maria and Cris will appear on top of the stage if they go to the Main Stage Camera.

New update for Five Nights at Cris'! Introducing new feature for future development, like Animatronics having "states" with different visual cues. Also, there is a new hover button to open and close Cameras to be more FNAF-like.

Rolling a hotfix for the previous update:

-Animatronics now won't skip the doors to the Office by double moving (they should never double move in this game) and they won't get stuck at the door until you run out of power or open it and get Jumpscared.

Rolling a new update!

-Cameras now have a colored background.

-Custom Night added after completing the game!

-Now Settings and progress are saved at "(your user folder)/Documents/Five Nights at Cris", so updating won't reset your progress in the future.

This probably won't interest anybody, but first dev release on the way! Still missing some arts, like the background of the Cameras, but it's fully playable.
