Uncle Joe and his family lived happy lives, until one day a rabbit named Billy the Depressed Hare decided to ruin their life and he is gonna make them ugly. He did that because Joe bullied him when they were young. So he broke inside Joe's house and dragged them in their basement and he started making them ugly and scary. A few days later, Joe and his family woke up in their basement and started breaking the door. They're sad that they're ugly. Billy wasn't satisfied with his actions so he decided to go back to Joe's house. However, things don't go out as he planned because they finally break out from the basement and he forgot to bring the gasoline. Unfortunately for Billy, the door is locked and the family most likely wants revenge. So, Billy was forced to survive in Uncle Joe's house for a few nights until he found the gasoline. If Billy fails to survive, the family will kick him out of their house and make sure his plan fails.

Five Nights with Uncle Joe originally started as a meme in the FNaF Overnight Roblox community in 2023, however it was later turned into a FNaTI-themed meme in that same year. One of the people who currently work on this game saw the meme and thought it would be cool if the meme turned into an actual game. On March 23rd, 2023, this would mark the development of the game.
