Beta Build 20190214 released!

Well, released the update at the same time as Valentine’s day. It doesn’t have any special side-missions, but it does have some nice improvements. So, enjoy this update and have a nice day with your valentine.

Quick Note: For some reason, some of the balancing changes don’t apply correctly on saves made with old versions. I am investigating this.

Game:

  • Raised the Image Cache Limit. May improve performance.

  • Critical Point is now active.

  • Added a new scene to the prologue.

    • Activates at 20%.

    • Provides 25% bonus defense.

  • Slightly raised the damage dealt by the team members.

  • Slightly reduced the HP of some enemies.

  • Updated the renderer to 0.36.1.

  • Fixed a bug where the wrong face was loaded when starting a new game.

Northbridge:

  • Updated some libraries.

  • Improved the code that handles the import and export of save files from and to an archive. Provides performance improvements for systems with multi-core systems.

A bit of an old but goodie coming back: Quick Load! In an upcoming update, you can jump back to where you left off with a push of a button.

Waz zis? An overhauled map? Yes. Coming soon.

While I'm preparing August's Monthly Sync, I'm preparing a Trello board for the game. You can see what I'm working on here. https://trello.com/b/CjFyzH50/immortal-sins-game-development Pardon my dust, while I'm getting this up and running.

Added achievements. Because why not?

Something something... Stuff that I worked on.

Wrote a tool that installs the game's dependencies. That means Northbridge will always use the latest version of the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

It's pretty early, but here's a look at a mob manager, handling the enemies in the game. The code streamlines the programming of the enemies. Hopefully, I can expand it to more useful ways.

Time for a bit of shenanigans: RPG Maker MV running on top of Tauri! This more future proofed framework means better performace and smaller file sizes. It does require some re-work in the engine, but it could lead to true cross-platform games.

It's a bit early, but I have something cooking. Keep an eye out.

Jump List returns in the next update.
