#Devruary

I always liked videogames, and as a kid I always wanted to make my own because creating stuff was my thing, so I started out with Scratch when I was in 3th grade and I'm now working on a GameBoy game! (I experiment with other game engines too)

The game I'm working on

That Gameboy game in question is "Koppy Kopsocks", I've been working on since 2024 (plus a prototype on Scratch I did in very very late 2023).

The current development on it is quite slow paced, there's moments where I release 5 updates in one month and others where I release 1 update in 5 months, although I'm confident that I'll be able to finish at least the final Demo this year. (Check this post's article.)

I also have other ideas for other game projects. I use GameJolt and Itch io to host the game (and Newgrounds if the game is stable and playable enough) and post devlogs on those places and on YouTube as well.

Scratch legacy

I discovered Scratch on school on an IT class thing in 3rd grade (it wasn't an actual subject, just a temporary programme), but we had to do the tasks in groups, and me & my friends would be always grouped with this kid that wouldn't let us do much (another reason why I always hated group projects), so I started using Scratch as a hobby at home & the school libraries in later years until I reached a point where I felt too limited by its limitations, and I wasn't a big fan of "Remix culture" and the Creative Commons license thing (found out about it the hard way, basically all your projects there automatically have this license, meaning that ANYONE can just pick your project and profit off it in other platforms).

I had hundreds of accounts (because you can't change your username and I just happened to always pick the most cringiest horrible usernames known to man), but my most recent is where I started my "jackalocked" identity. I don't use scratch anymore so I probably won't make any more projects in there.

Deleting your data in style! (W.I.P)

Added a little cutscene for when you erase your data (kinda like in the Kirby games), I had this planned for a long time now and finally managed to pull it off

- New sprint particles for Koppy! The previous particles were barelly noticeable so I changed them to be more visually visible.

- Health pickups! They can be found somewhere in each level, it restores the player's health by 1 heart.

And also...

Mae Borowski is the main character of Night in the Woods! It's an adventure game that tells the story of her return to her hometown of Possum Springs. She was confirmed as canonically pan in a social media post by the game's creator Scott Benson.

Happy Easter!

Here's some concepts (2025/26) of Hare & Rabbit characters I have in mind for my project "Kopsocks" (they won't appear in this game yet).

Their designs are still not final, but the concepts are already set.
