Finally finding some time for a modeling project after a super busy summer!

So a friend of mine had this idea: he's always like the look of an old timey rifle hanging over a fireplace, but for his house he wants something a little more... unique... than some ancient lever-action. And what could be a better conversation piece than a rocket launcher above the mantle?!

With that in mind, I'll be attempting to print a life-size model of an RPG-7! Given print volume limitations, it'll probably have to be done in four pieces (aaaaand I'll be leaving the painting up to him).

Normally we'd rely on textures to include fine details but, since that won't work with a printed model, all of the detail is actually in the mesh geometry. The model is at about 6.5 million tris already and I suspect it will be 10-12M by the time it's done!

It's been a lot of fun to work on so far and I can't wait to share some progress of the print!

P.S.: I'll make the model available as a free download when it's finished if ya wanna try one for yourself!

Okay, I mean it this time; I'm gonna see this one through...

Wanted to make something my kids can play that isn't all about killing something else. This section will have the player following a wisp through a foggy marsh

I'm thinking that I need to change the art style for this project to something which I can produce and iterate on faster. Which of these two styles for the mech do you like more? Modeled/Rendered in Blender.

Here's another Bandit Trap inspired model I made in #Blender... Don't sit on this chair!!

I hope you guessed Ham Sandwich.
