I will post more such extensive entries in the "My First Game" community.

I want to show how you can systematize your time spent working on the game and communicating with others. Maybe this will inspire someone and serve as a model.

I use a variety of social media to communicate with the community in the right context. So - I write about the creation process on #GameJolt, discuss on #Discord, post screenshots on #Instagram, put the weekly schedule in my language on my #fanpage, and on #Twitter I provide short information about what I just posted elsewhere, so that it is enough to follow Twitter only and have an overview of everything.

Here's my #plan for the coming week.

Monday

I'm starting coding for the right game. Earlier attempts were made on a dummy. I was learning the basics of the #AppGameKit Studio engine.

On the first day, I will create a game loading board and a menu board with a few buttons: New Game, Continuation, Settings, and Exit Game.

Tuesday

I will polish the above scenes (from Monday) and create the Settings scene.

Wednesday

I will create a mechanism for reading and writing Settings.

If I'll have problems with the implementation, I will report it to the community on GameJolt (https://bit.ly/3oGIgvZ) with a question or asking for help.

If I can, I will do a game save and a game loading scene.

Thursday

I will let you know what went well and what should be finished this week or what I still have a problem with and could be delayed.

You will find out if I received help and if it worked.

I will post information at https://gamejolt.com/c/myfirstgame-qube6q

I will start creating a simple level wizard / editor.

Friday

I will write what has been achieved and what has been postponed to the next week. I will post information here: https://gamejolt.com/c/myfirstgame-qube6q

Saturday

Screenshot of what was taken. On GameJolt and on the Polish-language Instagram (https://bit.ly/35Nm50d).

Conclusions and tips for the developers of your first games: https://gamejolt.com/c/myfirstgame-qube6q

Sunday

I will announce the plan for the next week, here on GameJolt.

It will include what I failed to accomplish last week and new things (including what I learned during the week - from the conclusions).

That's all.

If there are additional entries on social media, look for them on Twitter: https://bit.ly/3J72u9U

I created the "My First Game" community for those who create their first game and would like to be connected with people at the same stage and have a guide on their way.

Plan for the coming week. I had to get busy last week, so there was no news on MyFirstGame. Sorry.

After 7 long years, the wait is finally over. Chapters 1-4 of DELTARUNE are out now!

Celebrate the parallel story to Undertale by completing these quests.

After ca 4.5 hours of coding i have my first day plan acomplished.

On images You see screenshots of two scenes:

1. Loading screen

2. Menu

I had to learn a few new things, so it took so long.

You can follow my plan on Trello: https://bit.ly/3B5U4wr

As announced, I got acquainted with the rules of creating games in the selected engine, i.e. #AppGameKit Studio. So far, I've watched a few tutorials about him. Read the rest in article below.

Hi.

My name is Tomir, i'm from Poland and i'm starting to create my first game. I don't count the game that i've written under dictando from some tutorial. This will be first game that i will project and program. It'll be a Tower Defence.

The Button Effect – @Frycandle 's minimalist first-person puzzler inspired by The Witness, The Talos Principle and The Beginner's Guide, is coming to Steam!

Play the demo and wishlist the game now: https://bit.ly/thebuttoneffect

Since I have a backlog, I was also programming on #Saturday. The result is the main program that fits on one screen (as can be seen in the attached #screenshot).
