Why have I been so quiet?
My lifestyle has been crazy busy recently, which is my explanation for the quiet around development. Work on Acre Shore has been frustratingly slow due to my annoying dependance on working a full time job.
Despite slow development, progress has been exciting. My focus has been mostly on polishing the end-user experience and expanding the capabilities of my narrative markup language. It's safe to say, things are getting exciting.
What's next?
Next, I need to focus on building a detailed map of the story. The story is all there, but I don't yet have a detailed map to follow. Having that map would really help with integrating the story.
Aside from narrative stuff, a huge amount of artwork still needs to be produced for the game. Hiring a dedicated artist is starting to look like a must. It's becoming unrealistic for me to be a one-man-band on this project, handling story, code, art, music, and everything in between.
How can you help?
I have been trying to find a publisher to secure some funding for the project, but that just isn't going well. It's not that publishers don't like the game, the problem is- they haven't actually seen it.
I put together a presentation, along with a copy of the prototype/proof-of-concept, but so far the presentation has not been opened by any of the publishers.
My plan now is to work hard on a new prototype- one that demonstrates more of the actual 'horror' element of the game, since the current one focusses exclusively on showcasing the function of my narrative markup language.
So- a highly polished, 10 minute demo. That is my aim, and you can help if you want to. If you want to help fund development before I find a publisher, you could chip-in on my Patreon.

What do Patrons get?
I will make sure Patrons are kept in the loop at all stages of development. Regular screenshots and development updates in more detail and with higher frequency than anyone else.
As well as that, you can even get merch, if merch for a yet unreleased game is of any interest to you.
Your continued support for the game means so much to me. Thank you so much.
