Merry Christmas from Acre Shore (an exciting and terrifying update)

The most festive time of the year is upon us and I come bearing good news! Acre Shore is past its 'boring core code' phase and I'm into the real meat of development.

At this stage, I could technically compile the game and continue my work by editing the narrative file the game reads from. Missing asset errors aside, the game would function.

At this stage of development, I don't mind telling you that I'm intimidated by the mammoth task before me. I have so much story to interpret into engine readable syntax, so many art assets to produce, so many sound effects to produce, and so much music to compose. I am exhausted just thinking about how much work I have to do. It will feel like perpetual crunch time.

Incidentally, if you feel like helping me eat during this time, please consider supporting my Patreon (where you can also get extra sneak peeks and merch) https://www.patreon.com/lord_nexust

Anyway, here are some character sketches!

Going Down, psychological horror RPG about difficult choices and memories best forgotten on an elevator ride.

My new narrative file format is working wonderfully! This is a massive step forward! (also, please do enjoy the sketch in place of final artwork- I've learned to leave the polished art for later in the name of progress)

Both the game and the TV show of The Last of Us have been praised for their depiction of Bill. In 2013, GLAAD described the game's Bill as being "as deeply flawed but wholly unique a gay character found in any storytelling medium this year."

"There are trees here... but we're still in the building. I think I recognise these woods..."
