SO.
I took some time off from the project.
As you may noted, it's quite some time I'm not actively working on any of my games.
The answer to this big "why" is simple: I've found something unsettling about Y.Ume Project, that is the main character.
You know, for a nice story-driven game the characters are half of the work, I think.
I expected maybe something... else, for the main character (Haru) and for a lot of time I tried to work and rework on her.
I wanted to make a simple but effective character, but it ended up with a really blurry and confused personality. I feel like she ended up not totally without a personality, but also her personality was itself quite limp, floppy.
Do you understand what I'm trying to explain? She's got that "almost, but no cigar" personality that I wanted to avoid. and that's exactly why I couldn't quite find myself to think about my game, while I was stuck on finding the real problem.
The other characters are quite okay, I think. They've got the "flavor" of the "secondary character".
But her... I think I'll work on her personality a little bit more, with some mind maps and also working on in-game dialougues. I want a picky, flussy, arrogant main character with some self-awareness but a lot of guts.
That will explain how she'll end up fighting in some situations instead of breaking down. No spoilers intended
