Update (new patch 1.9.2): I've gotten some good feedback, and I've figured out why the d-pad doesn't work on some (most?) controllers. It's... a clumsy mistake on my part. Literally two lines of code was all it took to fix it. Whoops.

To explain, there are three types of gamepad functions in GM8: Buttons, axes (joysticks) and povs (d-pad). The axes and povs are hardcoded to movement and navigation, and somehow I forgot to add pov functionality to up/ down movement.

Patch 1.9.2 fixes that, adds the option to disable built-in gamepad support (incase you want to use external remapping software) and improves viewport scaling functionality.

The world map's layout is now 100% done! Besides that I'm working on a new update that'll add more options to the game like rebinding keys.

I've added new enemies to dungeons 6 and 7, so they're now 100% done besides some polishing and bg graphics. This enemy is based on a well-known franchise, can you guess which one?

I've redesigned some of the early game enemies, which means the game no longer has "borrowed" graphical assets. I'll release a demo with these changes and more next week.

Version 1.6.0 is now live, adding gamepad support and other QoL improvements, including... slopes!

I actually ran into a ton of bugs implementing all this, but it was well worth it.

Happy #WIPWednesday! Are you working on a game? Making some art? Practicing a song? Something else? Tell us in the comments!

Since Legend of Hilda got a much-needed QoL update I figured it's only fair to do the same for this game. The update's not quite done yet, but it will feature an extended options menu and some combat improvements. It'll hopefully be ready next week.

A floating dungeon high up in the sky... wind themed, of course.

I had this planned many years ago, so it's exciting to finally design it.

New patch 1.9.0 includes an options menu allowing you to change controls, lower the difficulty and more! I've also added enemy healthbars, an extra keybind, improvements to controls and other minor fixes.
