Windows 98 in my soup? Time for Vista makeover!

This will be a really quick post since not much was added to Immortal Sins (for now). Mainly a lightning-fast progress report.

Anyway, as I am getting closer to release that massive update for Immortal Sins, I found out that Windows had a more useful (and more DPI-aware) folder picker (among others). So, I went on the code and replaced the old tech with new ones. The difference is… well… impressive.

There is still some work to be done, but since I have most of the launcher’s code re-written (about 82% done), the release of the update may be soon enough. I just need to finish up with the big obstacles in the development.

(If somebody asks, that’s due to Windows Vista re-writing some Win32 APIs related to file and folder pickers.)

A small teaser for the next update.

A bit of an old but goodie coming back: Quick Load! In an upcoming update, you can jump back to where you left off with a push of a button.

Added a simple audio system to the launcher.

Added the option to rebuild the cache. This will clear the cache and then decompress the files from the packages.

Something something... Stuff that I worked on.

It's still pretty early work, but I am working on making the UI more dynamic and sleek. Including faces changing depending on their HP.

Implementing Armor Corrosion. This put quite a dent in the target's armor for a short time.

Added achievements. Because why not?

Done some improvements to the backup system. Even added an icon to let you know that it's working.

It's pretty early, but here's a look at a mob manager, handling the enemies in the game. The code streamlines the programming of the enemies. Hopefully, I can expand it to more useful ways.
