From The Heartlands - Gameplay Test Demo 0.1.0

Version: 0.1.08 days ago

#Brindlehollow was once bathed in the light of the Verdant Flame... Now it sits in it's shadow.

Heal the land by forging connections with your neighbors and building up your homestead into the ultimate farm. Or craft gear and go battle the shadows. Learn magical spells to aid you in battle, help out around the farm, or open up new depths of the catacombs for exploring and rooting out the corruption of the witherbark.

Hunt animals to build armor sets or cook meals to aid you in battle. Decorate your home and farm without a grid and place where you want. No two farms will be the same, with completely free decoration placement place what you want where you want, arrange your garden into perfect squares or till circles for your crops to grow.

It's all in your hands.

Tweaking the combat a bit so it feels less hectic and more controlled/Tactical-ish. More options to create and close distance as well as the beginning stages of the magic system... magic will be used for combat, exploration, and even farming.

Menu is M or Start on the Gamepad.

WASD, Thumbstick - Movement

E, A or X - Interact

Space, B or O - Jump

Mouse Wheel, Shoulder Buttons - Scroll Hotbar

Left Mouse, X or Square - Activate Hotbar Slot

Right Trigger - Activate Hotbar Alternate

Right Mouse, Left Trigger - Aiming or Strafe.

Gamepad is 98% supported, it should work no issue but there may be a couple of quirks. some items from the shop are missing icons, but white squares are furniture and props that can be built on your homestead.

The gameplay test demo is live, there may be some bugs but that's where we need your help.

Give it a shot, record it if you want to so we can see and share the links here. thanks for your time :D

Plus weapons. loooooots of weapons. 1H and 2H variants, each with different attack speeds, stamina costs, damage (ofc) and ranges. as you level up with each weapon type you'll get a little faster and hit a little harder.

The freedom of the crafting and decorating system can lead to some interesting decisions lol. but we figure, if the player wants to, why not? doesn't break the game to let them place things where they want to... and if they make weird stuff, so be it

Testing and balancing combat. haven't implemented magic yet, but that will put a whole new spin on it. skeletons are a bit tough for level 1 but it can be done. they're in the 6-10 range.

A few minor details to iron out and a playable demo will be available. no storyline elements are in place but the farming, crafting, combat, and decorating is ready to go.

make sure you follow to keep updated on it's release :D
