fantastic game! just the type of story the current rpg maker sphere of gaming needs - superhuman characters BRIMMING with personality fighting against each other or facing up world-ending threads, and all of that with such a memorable level of epicness that you REALLY can't find in any other game! from the friendly squarrels between Amphi, Eirik and Ingrid to the lore-filled flashbacks that you can enter JUST BY TALKING TO CHARACTERS - all good. just... majestic. the game's graphical side miiiiiight look simple because of the default rpg maker graphics but it's still nice, and hey, the battlers look pretty damn unique - props to you if you drew them all yourself, Gheimz!
the first chapters of the game are pretty damn nice but once you get to the open world part is where the game REALLY gets good! not gonna spoil any plot details tho cuz right from the beginning it's a rollercoaster of emotions and pretty fooken interesting ideas - you gotta experience it yourself, dear reader - trust me, you're ain't gonna regret it) i've also checked your youtube channel, Gheimz, and i like the type of videos you post - it's kind of like a wiki for the game you got there, although you do leave out most of the main story content as far i see and props to ya on that - that's where the meat of the game's story is, wouldn't want to have the players catch spoilers from accidentaly stumbling upon your channel! i've also noticed you posting some stories on wattpad connected to the game's lore which is also real nice - always loved side content for my favorite media, books and novels especially!
so, yep, really liked this one, as you can see) i'm not even NEARLY done with the current version but i already want to see more content for the game because it's just that good - projects with such a big soul put into them are pretty rare these days and i'm real glad i've found this one) cheers for reading this, and, Gheimz, if by any chance you stumble upon my tiny lil review of your game, thank you.
instant favorite. the 2 and a half years of work paid off greatly, Gheimz, and i was glad to go through your creation) the game is very fun, the characters that you meet are memorable and interesting, the world itself has some lore to delve into and the battles are tough, but fun) the game is simply awesome - and i'm only on chapter 5 now! i'm only writing this this early into the game because there's so much to say already - from the superhuman feats that your characters can accomplish (clearly inspired by anime, no qualsm about that, though - i'm a fan of the genre, too) and to the way they all talk between each other, which greatly reminds me of how long-time friends talk, constantly bickering or trolling each other but still remaining friends at the end of the day) but all in due order!
firstly, Amphion's heart being a major plot point was a pretty cool detail, especially with how the icon and the game's thumbnail had it in them - at first i thought "haha, what a random picture to use as a thumbnail" but just the game's start made me realize how wrong i was!) fantastic. next, the tutorial with Acrisius is very nicely done, and i also love the idea of the Black Blood spell - you take some damage but in return you become unkillable for some time! it's pretty unique, too - i haven't seen spells like this in other rpg games, especially maker ones) the quest list is very helpful at guiding the player, i just wish there was an option to turn it on and off) also, i LOVE the fact that the game allows you to manhandle the dragon yourself while playing as Haydan, which also goes to show how the Destroyer lives up to his name!) and there are many other moments like than in the future, too, allowing you to play as all these badasses! just awesome. next, i adore Haydan's house having a hole in the roof after the fight, such a small but great detail))) it's also pretty damn cool that you can learn some lore from Acrisius and also get neat little flashbacks on two occasions, really makes me more immersed and interested in the game's history!) and then, the relationship between Haydan and Eirik is hilarious, i loved watching the antics between them in Chapter 2)
i'll continue my pseudo-review in the next comment since gamejolt's a bitch about comments being too long, my apologies.
Story:
The story talks about a recruit who's the offspring of two different races, your goal is to find out to which race he belongs to and win the imminent war.
Game info:
The story is divided into 9 chapters. The first one was made to give you a tutorial and explain you how battles work, to introduce you the main characters and let you explore the headquarters. The next 4 chapters are focused on understanding to which race the main character actually belongs to; during these chapters, you aren't allowed to travel around the map, you're forced to follow the story, which is still plenty of things to do; during this time, you can also talk to other characters, ask them about their past, and play as them during flashbacks. The last 4 chapters are focused on winning the war; after the end of the 5th chapter, the game will become an actual openmap videogame, allowing you to explore almost everything of the map.Â
Why should you play it?Â
Because I've spent 2 years and half of my life working on its details and possibilities. Your actions and words may have some minor consequences in some cases; some side quests have different endings and paths, it depends on how much you've played the story and on which characters you bring along with you.
