April Devlog - Milestone Reached

General Progress as of 4/4/2025

A tricky minigame engine was just finished. Here's a teaser video of its gameplay.

Most of the recent work involved room creation, design and a lot of cutscenes and dialogue for one of the important subareas in Snowdin.

I realised that I've shown this tileset off in Bluesky, but not here, so here's a screenshot of some of the new tiles.

I've also experimented a lot with OST tracks, but unfortunately, they're both spoilery and I'd like to refine them further, so I can't show them for now. One of the new motifs is in the video teaser, so there's that.

Next Milestone

I'm aiming to get a private playtest out for the halfway point of the game. This doesn't mean that the game is near 50% complete, as it is currently not polished or bug tested - the test is mostly to make sure that the narrative points work well and to ensure that gameplay problems get identified soon.

If things go exceedingly well, this test will happen by May and I will reach out for a very small group of testers. If things go as expected, this will probably happen in mid July or later to account for my last school term.

Unless I procrastinate (on school), then maybe it will release during my school term, we'll see.

June Devlog - Just an update

Finished the opening cutscene. Watch it on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7utbcklbDvY

Beta testing has started. The game is about 80% or so done and hopefully can release by the end of April if the finishing levels can be made.

The game is already playable from start to finish, just some QOL, tutorial and pacing improvements left

Say hello to Poffoon! (Placeholder battle music)

Development has been going smoothly, though I expect it to slow a little in the coming months.

More narrative details have been fleshed out, and one more minor fight has been roughly finished.

December Devlog - Happy Undertale Yellow Anniversary (soon)!

Made a new banner. Ran one playtest for the location. It should be done and dusted. On to the next location.

The game is currently being developed, and playable sections exist. The base engine (built on Godot 4 in C#) is roughly done, but more will be added to it as the game goes on.

So here's the first of the zodiac signs i will make for the next weeks.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
