So, Godot released 4.2 today. As much as they hyped it, I hadn't been hearing very good things about it, that it was breaking stuff left and right.
Well, I decided, what the heck. Can't be that bad, right?
WRONG.
Worked fine on first startup. Asked me to reimport meshes and textures, pretty standard. I've had to do that with every update, and I knew the devs were allegedly working on asset pipeline optimization and some other changes to 3D assets to make it less painful for bigger projects.
Long story short, it corrupted my entire project.
Thankfully, I was smart enough to back up my project before trying to convert over.
I might give them a chance if they release a 4.2.1 in good time, but I figure I'll just stick with 4.1.2. There isn't anything that I simply must have from the new update in order to continue to work on my project.
PSA: BACK UP. BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP. THEN BACK UP ONE MORE TIME.
