So, it's been quite a while since I've made a proper blog update, huh? Yeah, I will TRY to resume a more normal update schedule because I think after I finish this post, I will be fired up again!

So why am I writing today?

Well, it's because I have a HUGE update to share.

I've been planning this one for 3 days now, and it's time to "sorta" come out with it.

This update will have something familiar to players of Super Smash Bros. Crusade and Super Smash Flash 2! I've been very reluctant to do this, but if it's a way to keep this game from being targeted by Nintendo's IP lawyers, I'm willing. Plus, according to players of SSBC and SSF2, these characters are super popular, plus Super Smash Bros. Feud is only a fangame anyway, so who really cares?

~Invitations Sent to Anime/Manga Characters to join Super Smash Bros. Feud!~

That's right! I've decided to open the door to SOME of these characters to join the game's roster! This isn't the official Super Smash Bros. series. I can cave and make some exceptions

I'm debating whether or not to make them part of a special edition of SSBF that has them, or just make 1 version and leave them in anyway. Eh, I think there should be just one, complete game.

I've considered making them post-game content, but I'm just gonna make regular reveals, etc. for them alongside all the game characters.

Super Smash Bros. Feud will be one gargantuan crossover game. Video game worlds, and those of Japanese comics/art, are going to collide! You may even see characters, or universes, not seen in Crusade or Flash 2 at all!

I have selected FIVE (5) anime/manga universes I will be representing in the game. I conceived this idea at first as an "anime/manga Fighter's Pass"-esque expansion, but I'll just go ahead and add them in the normal way. Each series will feature at least one fighter, some music tracks, and a stage. If, for example, you've always wanted to see Mario or Link in those universes, you're in luck!

I am not yet revealing which anime/manga IPs will be the lucky ones. I will do that as I develop content. I mainly wanted to make you aware of this loosening of the rules.

This doesn't affect the normal roster I'd picked. All of those fighters will still be in the game. These are just new additions.

You may even see universes or characters that will shock you.*

~Other Developments~

For the moment, I've been lacking a little motivation, but I've working on little things. The second pic on this post features a new Stage Preview picture for Random. I didn't feel right just making it go blank.

I've recreated a Prefab Asset for Mario's first costume, so I'll re-do the way I spawn the fighters in the match, and I have a good idea how!

*P.S.: There will still be no western movie/comic/cartoon, or indie characters, in the roster. So still no Shrek or Sans, anyone. I've only lifted the ban on anime/manga fighters.
