Who are Psynthetix?

Well, I figure that if I've got your attention, and I'm gonna keep working on my game, I've got to keep you all entertained until then. So, let's talk about Psynthetix for a brief bit.

Psynthetix is a little band formed by Myles Taylor and his best friend, Stride Jackson (second-left). Originally, they were called Stridin' Myles, and played in Myles' garage, with Myles on lead guitar, and Stride on bass. Myles and Stride were good friends at Aront High School. Cindy "Twilight" Wensleydale (second-right) jumped on board shortly after as keyboarder, and they did their hardest to get Hiro Tetsujin (far left) in the band, since he was the best drummer on campus. Jesse Black (far right) was brought on board when they needed a ride to travel around Trula, and a technician. He's proven himself a good backup guitarist later on. (Susan wasn't in the band yet, since her story doesn't begin yet.)

Eventually, they got a manager, named Tom. He's managed a lot of musical acts, including Stabbington and R-Tina. It was thanks to him that they got the name Psynthetix, and their first major gig, the Instruments of Power tour. It produced a hit single for them, Rock Da World Again.

...oh, and they performed a little for the controversial pop singer, R-Tina, on an album called Co-Ed Celebration.

Eventually, they got a second bass approved by Tom, named Scaramouche Faust. Most people call him Scarry. He has a nasty tendency to steal Stride's riffs, and he's much older than the rest of the band. He'll be disowned due to monster-summoning reasons that will be explained in the game.

Of course, after a certain incident, Susan would join the band, but we'll get to that story when the game comes out.

Importing again.

It may say there are 20 warnings, but 18 are about "__cam" and two are about "array_length_1d", related to ye olde depth system.

...well, I don't know if I should be worried about either at the moment.

A rather interesting thing I forgot about...

Oh, no, not again.

At least it's just the player character, but still...

EDIT: It's just her collision box being different for the Hurt frames. Easy to fix. Her sprites all have different collision boxes to keep her ability to duck.

How it started vs. How it's going.

The character-puppet thing ended up being the basis for the boss designs instead of the Robot Maid herself.

I could salvage it, but I'd think adding a mode where bosses fight each other is a bit too extra.

Part of the expansion involves a cute little fight right here. ...in space for no apparent reason.

...too bad it won't be as epic as the final boss, but still...

Just a reminder. It's coming on the 16th, assuming nothing goes wrong.

Since certain elements of GM Studio 1, including ye olde "score" and "lives" variables, were deprecated in later versions, I reworked the score system while making them global.Score and global.Lives instead.

Now getting a million points can be done.

I realize some players just want to play the game and see the story, while others may actually want to use those revival items, so here's a little compromise for you all.

Also, yes, I NEED to put on that "Pro" flag everywhere.

I did Attract Mode first.

She can pwn on her own for the first four mainline levels for 30 seconds each.

Playing around with the title is only the start of a title sequence.
