how not to code: A cautionary tale

Quick look at what is our first sprited NPC and town resident. Once basic systems are up and running there will be more on npcs and their characterisation.

As part of sharing the development for a day in the life I've made the Trello board for the upcoming demo public. More will be added as I work but I've included little notes and descriptions on how things slot together.

Crop tiles - how do they work?

Working on some sprites for the first crop to be added to the game, the humble turnip. And its comically large counter part will be included with the farming demo with a handful of other crops.

getting assets prepared for the demo and programming the farming system. just about finished the small placeholder shack made from bits and pieces of the hotel tiles.

Im gonna keep showing the inventory till this thing is working perfectly :D it can now switch items in the inventory into the held item slot and let players throw out whole stacks of items if need be. Its also got mouse and gamepad input.

I've been making slow progress over the last week adding actual funtionality to the inventory menu. ofcause its never that simple and throwing and lifting animations had to be made and implemented to go with it.
