A lot of people are leaving their comments here talking about the positives of the game, me personally? I found it a bit boring.
Now for two people, this is impressive. Most games now have big dev teams behind it these days, but I have been following your YouTube work for a while now, so I expected the models to be good. Normally, I don't really care for Showbiz style animatronics when it comes to the Fnaf characters, but I will say I like the looks of these guys, and some of the rooms look cool. I don't really care much in the way of graphics however.
The problem really all falls to the gameplay. It's boring to put it bluntly. I beat the entire game by just standing at the door way and holding Z while occasionally looking at the camera to deal with Harley. For some reason, Harley's mechanic where I had to look around the cameras for interference never happened to me, might just be RNG so lucky me I guess. With three characters going to the door and two characters going to the window, all making sound cues most of the time. The game becomes... boring to me at least. I think the worst part is if you are going for the True Ending, you won't see the best part of the game, that being the Bad Ending of Night 6. That part of the game was the most fun I have had out of the entire game, and if you go for the True Ending, you wouldn't get to see it. The post night segments are nothing to write home about, they're a little repetitive honestly. I didn't feel any jumps in difficulty and because of the sound cues, it was easy to determine when the clown showed up.
Now I wouldn't call all of the gameplay bad, the minigames are pretty cool. Most fangames have done away with minigames as they all felt like the same thing time and time again, here, you have objectives and an enemy coming after you. So there is some spice to it which I like, nice way to bring back minigames without being generic like everyone else. And again, I would love to bring up Bad Ending Night 6 was the best part of the game. Again, it's made by two people so I'm not super offended. But if there ever was a sequel, I would like to see the gameplay be more thought out (the cameras are not used until Night 4 considering you can just hold the light button without consequence). Hopefully this didn't discourage you all or anything.
There are lots of things to like about the game, such as the visuals, atmosphere, and the ambition. But there are a bunch of problems with the game, particularly the gameplay.
The cameras are for the most part completely useless, a common problem in fangames that this one also fails to address. To deal with most of the characters, you only have to check the door and the window, so the night shift is exploitable, repetitive and boring. It would be great to have more variety in how you are supposed to deal with the characters, instead of having to close a door on them - excluding only one character. I would like to see the cameras requiring more use as well.
The post-night minigames don't have enough to them and are overstretched, they're mostly there only to extend the length of the game, which can easily backfire and make the player lose interest in continuing the game, despite the variety they try to add. In the first post-night segment for example, your task is nothing more than holding the left mouse button for a while, and checking the corridor behind you time to time in order to shock the animatronic. The audio cues happen to make the flashlight unnecessary, so there is even less activity required.
The cutscenes seem to serve the same role as the post-night minigames: Extending the length of the game. Most of them are slow-paced and in some of them just about nothing interesting happens. There is a skip button to skip the cutscene if the player isn't interested in watching them which is nice, but you'd want all cutscenes to be at least interesting enough to reward whoever that sits through them.
Another thing that is super bizarre about the game is the bad ending having more to it than the true ending. I'm not sure what the motivation for this decision was, but it punishes people who pursue the true ending, because they happen to miss out on a lot by trying to get the actual ending to the game and its story.
I know I had a lot of negatives to share in my comment but there are lots of things to like about the game too, it's just that it's unnecessarily big and a lot of the content happen to be there just to make the game bigger, even though the effort could be spent on making the primary parts of the game (such as the night shift and post-night segments) a lot more fleshed out and interesting. I would highly recommend playtesting your future games a lot more in order to find the flaws early on and lower the scope of them. It's admirable to see how much you've made with such a small team, but bigger game doesn't equal better game.
With all that said, I wish everyone behind the game good luck with their future projects!
This fan game is PEAK the gameplay was awsome the story was amazing AND THE CHARCTERS OH THEY HAD PLACES TO BE AND PIMPS TO SEE https://youtu.be/yg_tPS-UBb0?si=NcP_9y3Z9pow9euz
hello! I played this game and thinks it's very good. However, I have 2 small issues
the game doesn't really reward you for anything, I would be nice to at least give a star in the main menu for our accomplishments
why make the bad ending the most epic ending in the game? I was so disappointed to go through all that just to find out I got the bad ending.
Overall, I love this game and think it's amazing. Even if it had its problems, this game is great regardless, and you should be very proud of yourself for making this.
вполне не плохо
