Build 20171216 released!

Hello everyone!

A hotfix build was released today to fix some bugs of high importance. It took me a while to ship this hotfix due to issues packaging the game. Anyway, here’s the changelog:

Game:
-Fixed a bug that caused the settings to load improperly. This bug also causes a crash to the game when you start for the first time.

Northbridge:
-Improved diagnostics by using a more reliable location detection code. This fixes a hiccup where the launcher would falsely detect that the files are missing.
-Fixed a bug where the Quick Load option wasn’t disabled when there weren’t any saves.

Hopefully, this is the last of missed bugs, so I can work on an expansion kit. Currently, the patcher is a mess and it will take a while to get it up and running, so, for now, download the installer and run it. It will remove the old version (along with the backup files for the installer) and install the new version.

That is all for now. See you on the next post.

Waz zis? An overhauled map? Yes. Coming soon.

Added the option to rebuild the cache. This will clear the cache and then decompress the files from the packages.

Implementing Armor Corrosion. This put quite a dent in the target's armor for a short time.

Something something... Stuff that I worked on.

A bit of an old but goodie coming back: Quick Load! In an upcoming update, you can jump back to where you left off with a push of a button.

Jump List returns in the next update.

Wrote a tool that installs the game's dependencies. That means Northbridge will always use the latest version of the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

Added achievements. Because why not?

It's pretty early, but here's a look at a mob manager, handling the enemies in the game. The code streamlines the programming of the enemies. Hopefully, I can expand it to more useful ways.

Time for a bit of shenanigans: RPG Maker MV running on top of Tauri! This more future proofed framework means better performace and smaller file sizes. It does require some re-work in the engine, but it could lead to true cross-platform games.
