#Devruary I'm using GB Studio!

It's an engine for developing games for the Gameboy (DMG & Colour) systems.
(Many devs got to put their games on cartidges and play them on the actual consoles!)

It's block coding based so it's very easy to get the hang of.

Making games for a very old retro system is quite limiting (because of the graphical limitations of it and etc), but despite that you can do many cool stuff in it and it makes you think of workarounds and stuff, so I think that it's a cool challenge and a good starting point.

As someone said before:

"Limitations breeds creativity"

(Kinda the same reason why I sticked to Scratch/Turbowarp for so long until switching to GB Studio, I always felt lost on Unity & Unreal).

I love ripping off very old game franchises from character to game mechanics without even knowing their existence

Just compare Koppy to this character ("Sparkster" I think) and the game mechanics in both games...

Yeah I'm def getting sued LOL

Remaking the first level! (Tile set not final)

Some of the feedback I got previously pointed out that the current level design felt too boring/empty, so now I'll remake the existing levels and change some aspects of the overall level design of the game.

"Spiraling fox"

spiral, swirl, whatever same thing

Procreate brush used: "Scallop"

Wanted to try adding a small feature, it ended up turning into a death battle against bugs that kept getting more bugged after every fix (it was like cutting hydra heads)

The game also crashed a few times... but it's stable now!

The MANY changes I did

falling from your grace, eh?

I put the new feature to the test, and it plays horrendous

So I might only apply this new mechanic to only specific enemies in specific areas or a specific object just for this.

But I'll give another shot at making this play better, otherwise...

Another mini comic!

These comics will be more of a "guide" to play the game rather than an actually story driven webcomic, but only for now as I want to start with simpler stuff.

Experimenting with something!

Instead of just jumping above enemies and killing them instantly, you simply get above them and you get to pick how you want to use them (jump or jump higher basically)

I will take a while working in this idea though...
