Before We get into the actual Log of things I already Finished, I wanted to
State some info on how game development will now go:
First, I am now officially a solo dev, meaning I work on this game alone with a few testers behind the scenes, from building the map to scripting, all me. that should mean game development will be slower right? In fact it should be faster and a little bit more beneficial for me since I get to learn unreal from Slendytubbies rebooted.
So firstly, the map for the alpha build I'm currently doing is almost finished, I just need to sprinkle in a few nice things like rocks, flowers, etc, along with its iconic landmarks like Laalaas tree, Po's tree, and so on.
''does that mean we're getting an alpha build?''
The Alpha Build won't be available to the Public.
ONLY the testers I know personally get to test it and fill out forms for feedback and bugs, I may however consider releasing a beta in the future
Now onto things that I've already finished:
Dynamic Footsteps with particles:
Footstep sound changes depending on what surface you're walking on, for example, grass, dirt, or sand, and will emit dust particles that each of those surface types possess
First-Person Controller with Animations:
has its flaws but is already noted to be fixed in an alpha patch
Mainland:
at the moment I've finished: Fog Effect, Grass
generation, Trees, Night Sky, Moon, and Textures, but it still has a lot of work to do with the extras like flowers and rocks along with other stuff
Sounds:
at the moment there is only the Night Ambiance along with the footstep sounds I mentioned earlier, but I plan to add more environmental Sounds in a future stable version of the game
Lighting:
Lighting was hard to make due to me being somewhat new to unreal engine but I managed to make it dark along with me figuring out how to make sunset and normal Day modes
alright, now what's to come? :
well as of right now, I only have 6 things left to add to the alpha build:
Main Menu
Pause Menu
Tank AI
Landmarks
Extras (for the map)
and lastly the most important of them all that even makes this a game: the collection system.
Anyhow, thank you everyone for the massive support for over just 1 fucking year! you guys are absolutely mad lads for making this game already reach 3,000 views and making it have 90 followers! I am thankful in every way and will try to update you as much as I'm able to, I hate making promises but I promise to make this game fun as much as I possibly can and make this one of the finest ones in my game collection!
