Insectile

I've shown off a lot of aspects of Insectile but have glazed over what is perhaps the most important: capturing new bugs!

How can I make capturing more impactful?

My game can be hard to capture in a quick post because it takes seeing a full match to really grasp.

So, if you can spare 51 seconds, I'd really appreciate your attention and feedback on my turn-based RPG about puzzlingly-shaped bugs! : )

Working on a *VERY* important feature today.

The player can now select Insectiles to be placed on their head!

Working on a feature that should've been in the demo to begin with... a map! As the Insectile world expands, it will become necessary for thorough exploration!

Madeline is the main protagonist of the mountain climbing platformer, Celeste. The game has been praised for its visuals, gameplay, and introspective narrative. The game's creator Maddy Thorson confirmed that Madeline is trans in 2020.

Following demo feedback, I've been trying to design more large encounters.

The fireflies are a great example! Lots more space for big bugs!

Happy Video Game Day!

July 8 is Video Game Day, a holiday that's obviously close to our hearts at Game Jolt.

Celebrate by completing our quests! They won't be around long, so get the rewards while you can.

Placeholder sprite, but I'm working on a new Insectile! I hope they will make the water areas feel much more alive!

Okay, this one's silly:

An unsuspecting beach ball you can kick around... but it's actually a pill bug in disguise.

@ryon is a Jolter to Watch, game dev, programmer, and artist who worked on Five Nights at Friedrich's! Follow @ryon before the quest ends on July 15 and you'll get Coins!

I log on today to... 4k followers!? What!?

Should I do something special? Q&A? Something else? Sorry I'm not more prepared, but thank you all so much!
