Introducing the BEATDOWN Mechanic!

When an enemy unit knocks down a player, they get to act again!

Once all players are knocked down, the enemy will initiate a beatdown with their buddies!


Hello all!

I’m back with another mini Devlog on Project Another World!

Continuing from the knockdown mechanic…Here’s the BEATDOWN mechanic!

When an enemy knocks down a player, they get an “Again” event where they get to act again. This keeps going until they don’t knockdown another player OR all alive players are either knocked down or disabled due to a status effect.

In this scenario, the enemy can initiate a BEATDOWN with their buddies and beat the crap outta all of you!

The damage a player receives increases for each enemy that targets them during a beatdown, and the damage dealt from each enemy is based on their physical attack minus your armour.

In the video, some players receive much more damage because the enemy that targeted them had a high physical attack stat.

This mechanic seems kinda strong but I doubt the enemy will be able to pull it off that often. But I can only confirm that when I begin playtesting. So, we’ll see.

Though, worry not! You, the player, will have a team supermove of your own! Which is what I’m working on next.
