While passing through the dangerous Peaceful Rest Valley, the four heroes come across a little boy being attacked by rampaging Mushrooms! Vike immediately throws off his trench coat to reveal... He's half Vampire! He rushes to help the little boy and the rest of the party follows.
Vike and John engage in thrilling close-quarters combat with a mushroom. Cyrus is turned ill and knocked prone by a surprisingly powerful UFO. Jeffeus and Smog are blasted by mushroom spores and become insanely confused. Eventually, after all the chaos, the party defeats the group of strange enemies and helps the little boy to his feet.
The kid introduces himself as "Apple Kid" and invites the brave heroes to stay at his grandpa's house to rest from their exhausting battle.
To my surprise, and the party's dismay, the first enemy, a little UFO, landed a critical hit on Cyrus. The first attack practically took out half his HP. Now, to even more surprise, and even more dismay, on the next turn, the same UFO landed another critical hit! What are the chances!? (1/400 I think) Poor Cyrus fell to 0 HP in the first encounter.
