What do you think?

is the game online?

Love the look of this game! if you are going to stick with the ps1/8bit style you have going I would recommend using some dithering for the textures. Can’t wait for this!

I am the second to comment, and this is a good game.

I didn't have the best experience with it but once it's polished, i see it succeeding in being a fun, scary game that does its job as a backrooms game

A survival horror game about what it's like living in the Backrooms, with the added wackiness of user-created levels and entities!

You will have an editor (haven't decided on whether to make it built-in or my own custom UE5 editor build) for creating your very own levels for other wanderers to explore and survive in! It can be anything from a horrifying infinite forest to a mall filled to the brim with Amogus. Really the only limit is your imagination! (and the game's framework lol)

This game is in HEAVY work in progress, so if you want to get your hands on the alphas, join my Discord server. And if you want to financially support me, you can join my Patreon (you'll get access to alphas, videos and streams of mine before everyone else). #horror #survival #backrooms #thebackrooms #retro

Do you guys prefer brighter lighting for level 0 or darker lighting?

I’ve done it. I’ve successfully made a RE1 style camera system that not only doesn’t feel like crap to control, but actually compliments the horror as well (I’ve already talked about that in a previous post, genuinely nearly had a heart attack lol).

Was play testing the fixed camera perspectives, and I was properly shown how well it can work in a Backrooms setting.

I was just wandering around testing it, and a Spider Legs turned a corner and chased me and it scared the EVER LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUTTA ME.

I've been considering replacing the first person perspective with a RE1 style camera system. What do you guys think?

(sphere is only a placeholder for the player character)

I just found out that navigation invokers exist in UE5. Here I was being a stupid dumb idiot and killing my CPU by having it build the navigation for the ENTIRE map on startup. Now it only builds the navigation in a radius around the player. Much better 😁
