Alpha 0: Run My EXE File! (controls below)

It's looks really rough still, but pretty much all of the gameplay is here (rounds and supers are still missing)

Let me know what you think / if you find any bugs!

Controls:

P1: WASD for movement, RTFGY for attacks.

P2: Arrow keys for movement, KL,.; for attacks.

Controllers: dpad, face buttons, and r1

Press Escape or Start to close the game.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Each direction (neutral and diagonals included) gives a different attack.

Hold back to block.

Press R and F OR K and , OR square and X to grab.

Press R OR K OR square at the right time to escape.

Y ; and r1 press all buttons simultaneously. If you are blocking / getting hurt, this will spend the purple Agony Gauge. Otherwise, it will spend the Power Gauge at the bottom of the screen.

Try different quarter circle motions to get different specials.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Notes:

No sounds and the models are still unfinished. The stage is blank.

Most bugs seem to come from sidestepping (up or down with Y ; and r1)

Effects and grabs!

When you block incorrectly, a warning sign will appear above your head telling you where you should have blocked.

I have survived the gauntlet of bugs and mechanics and can now work on making the game pretty! Still no sound though.

I will be posting updates every friday on my youtube channel! I don't feel like the stuff I've been making would make for interesting text posts, so I'm making short videos instead.

This week, I explained how the screen space gradients to make Bonnie blue and purple at the same time

Patch notes are in the article

This week, I explained how I made the model look more detailed without making it look less 2d. Also, I painted some shading back onto his bow tie

Controller symbols! Only playstation is done right now.

I originally wanted it to be based entirely on the ps2, but I was worried that would make a lot of the buttons (shoulders, triggers, start, select) hard to find for someone unfamiliar to a ps2.

Bonnie Face Animations!

He needs to be very expressive so you can tell what he's doing from far away

Also, I gave him the more realistic Five Laps nose. What do you think compared to the original?

Music and New Version

Rounds! Timer! Settings! Coming soon. But for now, you can listen to Bonnie's theme at the top of the game page.

I'm going to start animating and locking stuff in soon, so comments/questions/concerns/ideas are greatly appreciated!

Behold! You can win and lose now! It's weird to see the game actually coming together. The main things left to do are animations, a handful of simple moves, and effects (like shadows)

This week, I explained how I'm handling textures and UVs. This system makes the textures easy to edit, so I can make alternate colors very easily. I even made a withered bonnie color!
