They say eyesight is the most precious sense we have as humans. What would you do if that was taken away from you? Could you survive? Escape the hidden horrors of a haunted house using only sound clues. Your screen shows nothing, so you can only trust your hearing to escape being trapped.

It's absolutely recommended that you wear headphones when playing this game.

TUTORIAL

As soon as you leave through the door, your screen will become completely black and you will not be able to see anything at all. Use auditory clues to help you navigate the house and try to leave through the exit (You will know you found it when you hear wind). You should test out the navigation system in this room before leaving. Louder sounds means the wall is closer to you, and higher pitches means there is a door in the wall. Remember to wear surround headphones. Keys will emit a shining sound. Looking at them will make a high pitch sound, while looking away will give a lower pitch. Use the [E] button to open doors and pick up items. Use [SPACE] to reset your pitch rotation. Leaving through the exit will play a short clip, indicating that you won the game, and a timer will tell you how long it took. #roomescape #accessibility #survival

My drawing skills are not the greatest, but instead of trying to draw something that looks very pretty, I just embrace my lack of skill and draw in an extremely simplistic style. These are all the images used for the tutorial.

This weekend CAECUS costs only $0.50 on itch.io. Check out the sale here!

With the help of a great artist, I've done a rebrand of the game to make it seem a little bit more attractive. You can find more art from this artist called Hygge at https://www.deviantart.com/hyggetheartist

Also, check out my game which is now called CAECUS.

Check out https://3dtextures.me/ for some stunning free-to-use high quality textures! I have used several textures for the models in my blind horror game, which you should also check out!

Got all this beautiful water and even swimming physics but it will never be used since the entire game is indoors. Funny to see how the game changes over time and what kind of creations become obsolete.
