I'm not sure how much I'll work on Hensen this weekend because I'm working on another (unrelated) project this weekend. I'll update here if I do anything for Hensen, though!

I've now published version 0.2.3 of Hensen Hopper to Game Jolt! The new difficulty curve is fully implemented in this version. If anyone actually does decide to buy my game and try out the new version, let me know if you find any issues!

This is a much larger (in terms of resolution) video than I've shared here before!!!

This is a full round of Hensen Hopper in it's current state! I mainly recorded this to showcase the new wave difficulty curve algorithm I've been working on!

I just realized since it's been two months since I worked on this game, I now gotta re-learn Hensen's code base... YAY...

Anyone know how I can stop repeatedly making the same mistakes?

I remember back in the day with my game Deathly Descent I released what was, for all intents and purposes, an alpha version and called it a beta and HEY LOOK, I've done it with Hensen too...

Thought you'd gotten rid of me? HAH! Not by a long shot! I'm like a curse, I NEVER LEAVE YOU.

Oh yeah, Hi everyone, it's Matt, I've gotten settled into my new place and I'm quite a lot happier these days so I'll now be back at it!

I've been really inactive here lately because I've been working on moving out; packing, getting things set up at the new apartment, etc.

Once I've settled in at the new place I PROMISE I'll start working on Hensen Hopper again!

I think the next thing I'm gonna work on for Hensen Hopper is it's story and lore. I want to keep the game an endless high-score shmup like it currently is so I'm thinking the story will be told through a first-new-game intro and a daily questing system!

I don't know what this post is gonna be to be completely honest. I have thoughts I'd like to share about how I view art as a mode of self-expression, which is why I want to channel my grief for my dog into Hensen Hopper's backstory as a character.

I might need to put Hensen Hopper on hold for now. I'm probably going to need to take an extended break from gamedev because my (irl) dog passed away this morning.
