What do you think?

Dang these games are good! It feels like I could run this on a SEGA Genesis, and it would work! The music is spot on, and it's nice to see a wonderfully designed Mega Man style indie game. Keep up the good work!

Already came across a bug in its newest update, lol

𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝-𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 is an original Anime mini-series I've created. The original title for this game is "𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝-𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚", but I decided to create an "Attraction" mini-series for Gandi IDE's Scratch Game Jams on itch.io.

The story inside this involves a young magician named, Sarah, who's just academy student and recently finished off her school year. She passed the exam and got her magician's license.

The setting takes place in a far future ahead (probably around the 2400s), where technology was influenced by magic that existed for thousands of years. With those 2 substances combined, the impossible is now made possible, such as robots having the ability to think and feel on their own exactly like human beings, holographic displays, objects transferring from virtual world to the real world (and vise versa), etc.

Sarah lives in a city called "Manjiku City", and there's also a company called "Mahou Computers, Inc.", which is the largest tech-magic company in the world. They manufactured many robotic and magic-controlled technology made for both businesses and home-use. They also manufacture magic wands, which Sarah owns one to fight in this series, and since she got a magician's license, she won't be charged by law for casting big spells.

This sounds cool, right? But just like every other world, there's always a some sort of evil plot lurking around. People attempt to cast illegal spells in ways that could get them revenge, larger profit, or even cast them to overthrow governments.

All of this is exactly why Sarah was curious enough to go on her own adventure to see the outside world. She encounters the evil queen, AI robotic takeovers, and evil manipulations.

As Sarah goes on, she's more ready to fight for justice.

I spent quite a long time making these 3 games for itch.io. They're all made with TurboWarp alternatively, but I primarily use Gandi IDE for these games as I have installed Gandi extensions to them.

I took inspirations from retro classic games from the 90s, such as Mega Man X and Contra. I use elements from old games because I believe that they are ideal to create on Scratch-related engines. They brought so much charm to the gaming industry, and now, I wanted to go the same direction.

If you enjoyed these games, please don't hesitate to give your praise.

Let's go ahead and get a quick look at all 3 games.

All of these games will be updated automatically as it is hosted on Cocrea/Gandi IDE; I don't need to go back to GameJolt and upload the new update.

The first entry to the mini-series. It's where Sarah first started on her journey.

So, the plot goes by this: A young academy student, Sarah, goes on her own adventure after passing her exam and received her magician's license. But an evil queen merges into Earth and releases her minions to retrieve the negative energy to rebuilt her dark kingdom. Sarah encounters her minions and proceeds to defeat them, and so, her true, dangerous journey continues on, building her way up to become a hero herself.

When I submitted this, it was a good start, but I got somewhat negative ratings due to poor game design. It's quite difficult to pull off. I got many complaints from people saying that the game is "way too difficult" but I thought I wasn't hard to learn boss patterns. Some of them never heard of retro classic games at all, so that might make a bit more sense. I ended up getting in 7th place, which I'm very dissatisfied with.

Controls:

  • Move: Arrow keys.

  • Shoot: S.

  • Change Weapons: 1, 2, or 3 (You're limited to one weapon as you start off but you will gain 2 more weapons as you defeat bosses).

I decided to make an overhead-shooting game instead of a platformer since t the previous one critically failed, so this is the 2nd entry for Scratch Game Jam #4.

When I got the results, instead of a failure, it was a success this time. I ended up getting in 1st place this time, too, which is what I've been aiming for. This is because I'm just too good with Scratch. That time when I finally got what I was aiming for, I decided to let someone else get in 1st place for the next jam.

Plot:

After defeating the evil queen 2 weeks ago, Sarah was praised as a temporary savior; she's not, yet a hero. The computer AI bot, developed by Mahou computers, Inc., discovered the recent battle with Sarah and went rouge after thinking and rethinking. Sarah now has a new mission to reprogram the AI bot back to its normal state before it conquers all of the environment.

Controls:

  • Move: Arrow keys.

  • Shoot: S.

  • Lock your aim: A.

  • Change Weapons: 1, 2, or 3.

I just posted this very recently (7/26/2023), and this is the final entry for my mini-series.

Unfortunately, I was unable to make a complete full game, so I have to upload a demo, unfinished.

I also got a bit help from @xorazor and he created some original music for this game. This game also allows you to select a difficulty of your choice.

Plot

After Sarah went to a vacation after Mahou Computers, Inc. rewarded her a large paycheck, she returns to Manjiku City, where she discovers chaos lurking in the city. She enters the city to investigate, only to found her old classmate who was kidnapped by a mysterious magician. Sarah attempts to convince the evil plot, but she ended up being tricked. And so, she's now in danger.

Controls

  • Move: Arrow keys

  • Jump: A

  • Shoot: S

  • Change weapon: 1, 2, or 3.

  • (New) Throw cards: D

You can now move, jump, and shoot at the same time as well.

I hope you enjoyed this mini-series. I spent a lot of time sketching concepts, creating vectors, programming, etc. I nearly did all of this individually and got absolutely ZERO help from any of the Ages Team members. They'll make an official game about this one day, but not yet.

In the meantime, have fun. And I encourage all developers to keep going. Never give up as everyone has already told you.

  • Best regards, 𝓟𝓪𝓹𝓲𝓬𝓱𝓲05.

⚠️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️

Some music I used was from Capcom's Mega Man X series other SEGA Genesis music. They are used for entertainment purposes only.

I know a lot of you guys love to listen to music, so TM-Attraction welcomes you the Sound Test screen.

My update work for Tech-Magical Attraction: The Grand Finale is nearly finished. Just need some finishing touches, Gandi extensions, and it's ready to be published.

The 3rd entry's thumbnail is too bland, so I redid the whole thing.

The first TMA game just received an update (v2.64).
