You know, I don't really use Gamejolt anymore, but I did wanna come back for a moment to comment this specifically. I can understand if you don't wanna read all of this, but I just thought I'd take a moment to say some stuff about my weird, unintentional, personal history with Teddy Shift.
As somebody who's been around since the early days of fangames, Teddy Shift has always been a bit of an "oddball" to me. Obviously, I don't know the full history of the game cause I don't really know you as a person. Regardless, for one reason or another that I'm not sure of, Teddy Shift has always kind of stuck out to me.
I've just kind of been in the background looking at the series as it progressed. So in a way, this game is oddly "special" to me in a sense.
This game is obviously a huge improvement over any previous iterations of the original, without a doubt. The character designs are just amazing. They have their own thing to them, but they still have that familiarity of their og designs. Feelin' brand-new while still having a bit of nostalgia to them. At least that's how I see them.
Considering how the name of the game is "Teddy Shift" and not "Teddy Shifts," it does make a whole lot of sense that this game has turned into only being one night.
This game has one night and... well... that's about it. No extras or anything. Short but sweet.
And, honestly? I don't really think that's a bad thing. I mean, I practically couldn't figure out a single thing about the original Teddy Shift's "story," if it even had one. I remember you saying something about the og Teddy Shift just being in some sort of purgatory or something like that, I don't remember.
To sum up what I just said in the last sentence in case you're confused: I don't really have a problem with this game's lack of story or content, I think it's a nice fresh breath of air compared to most fangames.
So with all that said, if you don't mind, I do have a couple of questions.
>>What was your thought process behind renaming "Demon" into John, as well as basically erasing "Hallo Benny" from what was originally the main cast? Other characters being removed I can understand, but it's mainly these two that I'm curious about (totally wasn't biased with Hallo Benny because I like rabbits or anything, what gave you that idea-).
>>How's it feel knowing how far you've come with the characters? Did you intend on making as many games involving them in the past or did things just kind of "happen" unintentionally?
>>And, well, most importantly, do you have any future plans for Teddy and his pals? Or was this game meant to be somewhat of a satisfying "closure" for them? Cause I unironically see potential in these fellas being used in something non-FNaF-related, even if it's something small, but obviously, I'm not the creator of these characters, so that's up to you.
If you did take time to read all of this, I appreciate that. I'm pretty happy with this remake. Yeah, sure, the so-called "standards" for FNaF fangames have been really high, but for me? If I consider a fangame a good fangame, than I think it's a good fangame. It's as simple as that. And this game is a good fangame.
Short, sweet, visually appealing, great character designs. That's pretty much how I sum this game up in 7 words.
Really liked the game! Very simple but yet pretty scary lol https://youtu.be/EJyO280bYLY?si=O3kJvMJ3SiyWgk4U
Do you only have one night?
