Hey, a Dead Drift update!

Here are some Dead Drift updates:

  • I'm experimenting with some tilemaps to make the "ground" on the floor of the game look more interesting. I'm trying a "sand" approach, but I'm not sure I totally like it. I might try other things in the future!

  • I also have a few bugs to fix and some art to produce in order to upload a first playable version. For this "get it out there" build, I'm likely postponing some things:

    • I wanted to code the one-star, two-star, three-star version of the power up cards, but this is likely going to wait. Until then, I'm only gonna try to prevent repeating cards from appearing (right now, the RPG one still repeats... for some reason!)

    • I also wanted to do a full version of the HUD, but I don't know if I'm gonna do that now. The one I have "works", even if it's not the way I want it.

Posting some other DEAD DRIFT EXPERIMENT GIFS. You can see "enemy trucks" (the dark rectangle thingies roving around) AND big zombies (they have 10x the HP of a regular zombie!!)

Mae Borowski is the main character of Night in the Woods! It's an adventure game that tells the story of her return to her hometown of Possum Springs. She was confirmed as canonically pan in a social media post by the game's creator Scott Benson.

DEAD DRIFT UPDATE!

I'm still working on the missions, and it's been harder than I anticipated. However, I was able to make missions work (even if the UI is a little janky)!

Since the beginning of this project, I've done its UI in a somewhat haphazard way. Now it's time to get some things right, so I'm planning to fix some things about its user interface.
