Update:
Alright, so here we are...
Not gonna lie, I haven't been doing so well and that has been halting my progress a little, but not enough to push back the release date just yet. The only real chance of that happening will be with the verdict of the appeal - and on that note:
The game has been growing larger with every asset, and as of this post, I have managed to shrink it down to under a gigabyte. I still have a lot more art to add (mainly CGs, menu backgrounds, etc) so the real test is now adding all that I originally planned and then see if the metaphorical dam breaks.
I am GENUINELY hoping and working for the golden line where I can include everything I want to without breaking the 1GB limit, because in that scenario, I won't have to submit a formal request to get the game uploaded as a browser build.
From what I can tell, that seems like a real possibility for GameJolt, but I know that ItchIO is rightfully strict with its 1GB upload limit. I still want the game to be a browser build, so in the worst case scenario, it may be that the ItchIO version will not get all of the CGs/music that the GameJolt version does (still playable, one version will just have more to it).
I will now begin drafting my appeal for the support teams, just in case it comes to it. I will provide an update if I do submit it, and if/when the decision comes back, as well as a finalized release date for the full game!
Oh yeah, and the answer is: the quicksave options (the menu labels at the bottom of the screen) have prism buttons now - just like the character labels! Looks pretty slick, dontcha think??
