Eternal Frenemies: Return to Eternity

So at this point, I have less than 24 hours to get the game ready for release.

Those who follow me and/or this game, the following article is for you to read.

I am typing this while simultaneously debugging the story logic, as I want to make sure all included content runs smoothly.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, I extend my strongest possible thanks to everyone who has liked/followed me or the game itself and those who have kept up with the game's devlog progress. It really kept me going at times, as I have no practical use for making this game without doing so for profit, and I'm not doing that. I want this game to be free and playable to anyone with access to an internet browser.

As grateful as I am for as many of you to have followed along with this game's progress, the ten-percent rule is not lost on me. The fact stands that the game is a linear click-to-read lore book to a passion project woven into a fantasy romance in a saturated genre of games with more player immersion, marketable(if not professional looking) graphics, and stories with topics that appeal to the current mainstream a lot more.

You all have made me largely optimistic in that a fair amount of people will play, if not go for the profile trophies. Statistically, however, I'm still expecting crickets for the first week or two (and that's if I keep screaming about everyday) because how small as I am as a solodev.

Regardless, I will put my best efforts into this game being as enjoyable as possible for everyone without distorting my vision!

It's been about six/seven months of work in between actual adult responsibilities and fatigue from void screaming, but we are approaching the finish line (this term will make more sense as you get the in-game surprises...) and not one of you has left. You have no idea how grateful I am for that, and I hope the full game lives up to the hype for you. If not, I hope you enjoy it to some extent anyway!

HELLO CLASS!

Today on this lovely #ScreenshotSaturday, we're gonna go over the two different kinds of non-sprite art you will see in the game - backgrounds and CGs (which I abbreviate for "cutscene graphics")!

Read the article for the whole lesson.

I swear there's a special kind of AAAAAGGGHHHHH when debugging game code and finally discovering solutions to the most annoying problems THE DAY BEFORE RELEASE.....

I'm sick, but I'll keep pushing - I want this game to be published and available for all.

IMPORTANT GAME #UPDATE COMIN THROUGH!

May I present the FINAL stats of the Return to Eternity VN game!! My work has paid off in that the final size still sits pretty under a gigabyte, so the game should perform fine on browsers!

More details in article!!

The storyboard is technically made up of cutscenes, but a lot of shots were redrawn as CGs for the visual novel game.

This is NOT one of them, but describes a "canon event" for the game.
