just played to the end of the current version and i have to say, what i've seen so far has been very, very promising!) first off, really love to see you branch out in other genres, Gheimz - first you did a great job with high fantasy in War is coming and now you're taking your shots at science fiction with this one, and i must say, you hit them pretty good) only thing i'll say about the plot is that it's pretty intriguing with some trope-subversive twists on the way, gotta see it to believe it, and the worldbuilding you've established has been pretty nice - in the next versions the game will transition into a semi-open world, as i guess, so we'll get to see even more of it - can't wait) the characters are also all nice, i like the dynamics between them a lot - the dialogues are also a joy to read but they tend to get a bit cluttered - i'll get to it later. the battle system is pretty unique, too - i really like how you replaced the standart MP and TP systems with stamina and bullets - they're fun to mess around with and you get to do that a lot in the beginning while slaughtering Distefanians!) i've also found no bugs or writing errors, so, props on that, too)
still though, i have a few suggestions to make - firstly, while the dialogues are fun to hear and the personalities of all the characters allow for some memorable interactions, when too many of them talk (like in that one part where the commanders and Alyssa's squad decide what the hell to do) you kinda lose track of it, secondly, while the long speeches are nice, especially the two times when they get into philosophical territory, some of them can get boring, especially those that talk about formal stuff, like, again, the scene where all the commanders decide what to do with Alyssa's situation - i'm not saying they're bad, just, could be a bit more laconic))) keep the more heart-to-heart ones the way they are, though - i loved those and wouldn't have them any other way)
and that's about it - all in all, the current version left a good impression on me and yearning for more - here's hoping from this point on the story will get only more interesting and battles, few they are, more fun!) as always, best of luck and lots of inspiration, to you, Gheimz, and take care!
P.S: man if you do really look like that in the portrait at the end then you must be one hell of a chick magnet hahahahahahaha, you dynamite))))))
Just played the game. The story was defintely the most interesting part. The character dialogue could be shortened. To me, it feels like the dialogue is trying to be more profound than it actually is. This is fine during the important moments of the story, like the betrayal. But when it's just two characters talking about normal stuff, there's something about the way they talk that feels... off. It almost felt like an anime or something, if I had to compare it to anything. Maybe that was your intention? Other than that, I can't complain about the game's story being generic or cliche. There's no significant typos or error either.
One other thing, something should be done about the battles. The encounter rate is really high, too high, like I just got out battle and encountered another one after taking one step, level of high. This is the problem with random encounters, if rng isn't on your side, it can feel like padding so the game can be 20 minutes long instead of 10. I can't really think of a single person who enjoys random encounters. On map encounters are just better, as I get to control the pace of the game not the other way around, you know. And the battles themselves are... boring, to put it honestly. Like, my characters have 2000 HP while the enemies deal like 2 damage, so there's no challenge. The enemies in pluto, for instance, have so much HP and take so long to kill, that it's just begging every player to not care and run away from everything. Again, feels like padding inbetween the story beats, which are the parts that actually have substance and aren't mind numbing. This is espically egregious during the final fight at the end, where my character takes chip damage while I slowly wittle away at the enemy's health using no strategy. Why give us so many skills, when only one is useful? It makes no sense. Keep working on the game. There is potential!
