it's an interesting start to a brand new project ngl :^)
picked up the pre-demo and played thru it just now and i gotta say im proud of the progress u guys have made so far, and here are the things i have to say:
the story was decent, though the character of derio was a little disinteresting due to them being a flowey clone
while art is subjective, i do believe the artwork in this game can use some improvement
it left a lot to be desired, as things like water weren't animated, and the trees were lacking a lot of detail
i'd suggest learning how to create and use tilesets, as those are very popular if not integral to the development of sprite-based games
i personally recommend an undertale-based tileset to be 16x16, but you can choose whatever you want
i hope that helped! if you're confused, just do some research on tilesets
though the animation can certainly use improvement, as alan usually awkwardly slid around while slowly moving their limbs, which stunted the immersion a little
less can sometimes be better, especially in terms of spritework, so i suggest less frames for walking and adding some bounce to alan's step so it's more cohesive :)i can't say much about the music, as you don't have your own composer yet
i'm sure someone will come around, just keep working hard and you might pique someone's interest!finally, the gameplay
the gameplay wasn't bad, though the final guessing game puzzle was a little long and very trial and error as opposed to making the player think to solve the problem
if u want to keep the puzzle i would at least lower the number required to pass from 35 to 25, so it doesn't go on for too long and is a little less confusing for players
what you have right now is very rough around the edges, but i'm confident you and your team can do great things with this project
keep moving forward and keep working hard
good work so far, i'm rooting for you :^)
Generally, we see Undertale-based games being single-player only. Not that this is bad, as in my opinion it enhances the experience, but in this case, we have two protagonists, but controlled by a single player. So, I can say that I liked the idea, since even being two protagonists, the person who plays will have to go through the challenges themselves. I arrived here through a link from Rielty and I was interested, I think what I liked the most was OST, for the musician I am and stuff lol. Good job.
Also, i think your discord tag isn't work tho.

Looks promising. Now I can die happy knowing I'm following a quality fan-game (at least I'm hoping) that's not heavily focused on those two boneheads.

Lois Sonic | "Woodland Vestige" | Area Theme |
ย
A long time ago, humans and monsters lived in harmony... But one day, humans began rebelling against the monsters, rationality twisted by fear mongering. The monsters fought for a long time, but realized that they could not overcome the threat in front of them, and created a force field over their castle in which they retreated into. Many years later... Two twin brothers were walking through the nearby forest, and one of them noticed the old vestige, in which there was some seemingly magical security afoot. The twins became curious about what was being protected. One day, one of them came up with a plan and through distraction and cunning, they slipped past the horrific sentry. Past the beast was a dead end with a pitfall. As soon as the creature guarding the castle saw the twins, they were in deep trouble. They took one last look at each other, and plunged themselves into the unknown.
